USA news & politics

Which I understand, except Republicans don't bat an eyelid about their constituents and used the threat of government shutdown repeated times under Biden and Obama to get tax and spending cuts they wanted.

At some point Democrats need to wake up and realise what they are dealing with. You can only keep "fighting fair" for so long when you opponent is kicking you in the nuts repeatedly. The Republicans are tearing whole parts of the US government to shreds in no small part because the Democrats have been completely unwilling and unable to stand up to them in any meaningful way. Their inaction is enabling way more harm than action would.
Gavin Newsom's centrism isn't what I like but he'll be the favourite to win if he's the Democratic nominee in 2028. Knows pre-Trump civility isn't coming back and won't hold back slagging off his Republican opponent.

I expect whoever the Democrat is in 2028 will be the favourite. Trump is insistent on governing for himself and his backers and nobody else. Lots of MAGAs will sit out voting with their healthcare costs soaring.

Thats Newsoms problem, not left enough for the progressives, not right enough to pull these Trump voters in, too main stream for most, and doesnt tow enough of the party line for the establishment...

His popularity is an anti Trump senitment, not a pro Newsom sentiment.

When he started this Trump mimic campaign a good American friend told me it was hilarious short term, but a bad long term strategy, propping yourself up a Trump on the left, or Trump post Trump is a stupid move, those centrists who flip flop between parties will be axhausted of those antis by then.

BLM wasn’t a communist movement bro.

Depends how you look at it doesnt it, if you listen to its creators, official stated goals, and messaging, or affiliations the organisstion made on local and national levels with socialism and communism, sounds pretty communist.

If you view the wider scope as the social movement not equaling the organisation, then its less communist drfinately.

It would be like saying the pro Palestine movement are all Hamas supporters when in reality it’s a decentralised movement comprising of millions and millions of people with varying political beliefs.

I mean, if the creator of the Palestine protests (i dont think theres a movement) were self proclaimed Hamas, they had an official website spouting their ideals to wipe the earth of Jews, and they had local and national links to Hamas organisations...

Then in that scenario would you claim the Palestine protestors were pro Hamas?

Well you could argue the creators of the pro Palestine movement are Hamas.

But just like BLM, the pro Palestine movement is decentralised and is comprised of tens of millions of people with varying political beliefs. I mean, you don’t think even the majority of people involved in BLM were communist do you?

BLM was decentrelised? How come it had creators, a cebtral command and issued demands through an official website?

But you get my point, if creators are self proclaimed 'trained marxists' BLM as an organisation promoted ideals that were in line with that, and has links to organisations such as Chinese Progressive Association, then as an entity it is very much in line with communism.

Now thats very different than saying everyone who took a mid pandemic lockdown break for a day out, are all communists, because the vast majority cared about as much about communism as they did about George Floyd lets be honest, but BLM as an entity, its creators, stated goals and links were very much aligned with communism.

And if BLM wasnt centralised, why did a coalition of BLM chapter try to sue BLM global for stealing all the raised money hahaha, BLM global bought a 6 million dollar house as a headquarter (definately wasnt a free house for Cullor), and hired friends and family for thiusands of dollars per hour to, i dont know whange lightbulbs or something lol.

The irony is, a group of marxists created a grouo to subvery capitolism, and effect social change, only for the stars to align, millions of dollars tonpour in and they became super capitolists and are now living in mansions in gated communities starting new initiatives, with their only roles being paid appearences every now and then hahaha.

I think we’re talking at cross purposes. There’s a difference between an organisation and a movement. The BLM movement was not a communist movement just as the pro Palestine movement isn’t, largely, a pro Hamas movement.

My first comment to you distinguished between the organisation and the people, ive been pretty clear.

The BLM movement had communist leaders and communist intentions, the people who joined in to prorests and rioting were bored, locked at home and angry at the establishment.
