Following the scrum debacle at Twickenham, former Ireland and Leinster tighthead prop
EMMETT BYRNE
attempts to demystify the dark arts of the front row, explaining the roles of the loosehead and tighthead props, the mechanics of the scrum and looks at what Ireland could have done to survive in Londonhttp://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/sport/2012/0324/1224313818427.html
This is a very good article describing scrum mechanics and the front row positions.

I'm guessing you haven't seen Ireland's back play in a while then? Aye, the players are there, but we don't even have a bloody backs coach these days!

Emmet Byrne is a very good writer by the way, I don't know what he's up to since Setanta lost the ML coverage rights, but some one should snap him up.

Must say the Setanta show is superb coverage - Williams is brilliant anchor and Franno even makes sense at times. And well people like Shane Horgan who are in on odd occasion do give current and accurate analysis
