On gay marriage it should also be noted quite a few people are still opposed or don't agree Parliament is well ahead of the curve on this one compared to general public in terms % voting for it. There are those who believe civil partnerships were good enough. It's good parliament really needs to lead the way on this stuff and I'm completely in favour. That some member are dithering on it just shows it's not clear cut. I'd rather a leader who was a massive proponent for these rights but our choices were Farron or Lamb and Farron was the only one with a plan....being butchered in the GE left our choices rather slim.

A lesson learnt from the Iraq war is that we shouldn't go into conflict on wiggle room. It should be a clear UN mandate, or not at all.

You say that, and yet on nearly every social topic imaginable, governments bring through legislation that liberals have been vouching for years prior. LGBT rights, female rights, sex worker protection, drug decriminalisation, anti-discrimination law. Liberals are prescient in the changing world. Admittedly they are scantly rewarded for it. Still, it's on the effort of liberals that the world does change and get more progressive.

Here's the point I always make,

If someone's way of life has no impact on someone else's why is anyone allowed to say they can't do it?

I don't care how people how the non-liberal bohemian elite (although I'd only prescribe myself to the first on that list) live their lives and they shouldn't care how other live there's.



Here's the issue though rather than just living their lives I find a lot of the transgendered and people in not simple monogamous heterosexual/homosexual relationships like to throw in people faces ALOT and that makes people uncomfortable and they are their own worse enemy. The other thing in terms of progressive politics is you have to lead the way but also move at a steady pace that public is willing to move at otherwise people start going in the other direction.

One of the things about the Brexit vote is free immigration people felt the 'liberals' were going too far and they voted against. Plus never get the attitude I'm right your wrong if you can't make argument your not convincing anyone.


Seen Leadsom is against gay marriage as well as maternity pay and the minimum wage (for small business' but still it's only time before that boulder applies to everyone). God I really worry about her being in charge gonna make Cameron/Osbourne look like fun times and even more pining to the days of the coalition.

Okay so two things I have no issue with it in general seriously most of the time I couldn't give a damn. I should point out I'm actually quite a private person online and don't feel any need to plaster my relationship with my wife to extent alot of people do.

1) I know two groups of people in polyamourous relationships. One is a 'stable' relationship and they just live their lives as anyone else would. The other always feels need to justify themselves and not what I would consider stable (I don't particulary want to go into too much detail they're friends afterall).

2) 'In your face' is probably the wrong words 'demanding' is probably a better word. Equal rights is one thing but some of community demand to catered for even if it is impossible to do so or would have a dramatic effect on quality of something just because they want their particular representation.

So I'm involved in stuff where people act out stories based on pre-written characters (like LARPing but not) a few years back we did 1940's Casablanca style game with 90ish poeple. In this game some people played the bad guys which naturally were Nazi's now people complained they couldn't enter same-sex relationships according to rules (it being based on film noir love triangles needed to be formed). However when people pointed out what the attitudes to homosexuality would be by the bad guys they said the bad guys should live with it because 'gay relationships happened back then' even though it would be totally against their character.....stuff like this persistantly happens and winds me up.

Underserving scoundrels... They should be loving cops for clearing out the riff raff from their neighbourhoods. I mean if you don't want to live as a civilised part of our society why did you come here in the first place. These cops should show the blacks what it would be like for the cops to actually be racist. No saving, shooting at first sign of danger, and arresting that at a higher rate for same crimes as compared to whites.

Not to mention it's never been harder to be a rich white male in this country. My 3x great grand daddy didn't come to America so that I would have to compete with the blacks and women for jobs. I mean it's such bullocks that my government is giving out money to the less fortunate to attend the same school as me when it should be exclusive to me and other kids who worked hard enough and are intelligent enough for their parents to be able to drop 60k a year for 4 years.

The officer involved in that one was incredibly poorly trained and most likely should never of got through the vetting process to be a police officer given his reaction to the situation before and after = total panic.

But on top of that the blacks do themselves no favours with their higher than average gang banger mentalitys and propensity to crime. All we hear on the media is this BS about how many black people are being killed by cops yet they seldom seem to state these facts with the rest which say that twice as many whites are killed by cops and the actual number of blacks being killed by cops is in the correct order to how many of them are scum bags. Which actually shows that police in the USA generally show more restraint towards blacks than any other race in america!

I couldnt care less about the gun deaths, thats been going on in america since the gun was invented its not a new thing and anybody that thinks its going to stop because you ban some guns is a fool. This guy that killed 5 cops was a military vet which you'd be amazed if he couldnt of got access to ar15's or even barrett 50 cals but no he used a ww2 era soviet sks to do this job which is do doubt a decent weapon but it would never even be on the banned list of guns if they did ban them so banning guns is a nothing imo.
