Help Support The Rugby Forum:

Don't know if this is the game thread but I'll post this here Daily Mail saying Itoje, Clifford and Hughes for back row. Haskell apparently not ready to start. Also reporting Nowell in for May. Telegraph reporting the same. If Wood isn't fit and Hask isn't ready to start I'd agree with that team.

Ah **** this is the official thread isn't it?

If Wood isn't fit then he wouldn't be in the 23 surely? He has been retained as one of only 13 forwards so is guaranteed a bench spot at least. Slade is the extra man in the 24 man prep party.

Clifford over Wood is probably a tactical change as Clifford's a more effective ball carrier. I'm guessing they want Clifford and Hughes together to add up to Vunipola.

Match thread is now up,
Try and keep the match thread clean, then this can be for trash talk (though stay within the lines plz, I don't wanna start banning everyone so I end up like that guy in the twilight zone who has the library all to himself and then breaks his glasses).

Everyone knows Twlight -----> Twlight Zone. #TeamEdward

Yes your right Brains is as good as beer gets. What ETI has done is saved Howler from having to do a team talk.

Yeah, I can see it now.

Howley:
"HAVE YOU SEEN WHAT JONES HAS SAID ABOUT US? HE RECKONS WE DON'T BREATHE DIFFERENT AIR, THAT OUR SEATS ARE NOT SPECIAL AND DAMMIT ALL HE DOESN'T THINK OUR BEER IS THAT MUCH DIFFERENT FROM THE ENGLISH. ARE YOU GOING TO SIT HERE AND TAKE THAT ****? READ THOSE COMMENTS, DIGEST THEM AND PUSH YOUR RAGE DEEP DOWN READY TO PERFORM ON THE PITCH."

Cue: Animalistic, riotous cheering and stamping of feet (or confused looks and scratched heads).

One look at the official thread and then it's time to avoid any sort of forum for a couple of weeks.

Deciding who to support in this game is like trying to decide who you'd rather shift between your mum and your sister... That's probably why the Welsh find it so easy!

Have you seen our recent record? Daaayyyyyyuuuum, we shiftin' everyone's sisters, yo

Is "shift" a typo or Irish slang for "pump"?

In bold is where the metaphor breaks down

Reminds me of a great bit from the West Wing:
ABBEY - So you talk to Charlie. I’ll talk to Lilly. We’ll co-ordinate our schedules and we’ll find a free hour.
BARTLET - I don’t think it’s gonna take more than a couple of minutes, but I like your confidence.

I don't know why we have to pander to away teams who come demanding that the roof be closed. We don't go to Twickers and demand they turn down the noise, or that they be be less plummy! Its a pointless choice as well because no away team ever chooses to have the roof closed. When in Rome, and all that!

It's the rules...

You'd need to find some snow from somewhere to have the match snowed off.

I'm also pretty sure that if that looked even slightly realistic, the roof would be closed.

In general though, rugby is an outdoor sport, and should be played outdoors, preferably on grass rather than plastic, though good plastic is acceptable where grass won't survive.

Always had this attitude to the roof, I'll accept heavy rain as an excuse as that effects the quality of the match and we don't want to see who wins by virtue of butterfingers and 50 billion scrums. But otherwise its a an outdoor sport.

Is this where we come to show true English arrogance and gloat until our lungs give way? :D
