Better now, and showing themselves as unable to govern in councils, than doing it on a national stage.
Good news is it might force Labour into moving away from FPTP. They have the majority to push that through now and I'd imagine the HoL would be reasonably receptive.
The other, rather obvious, solution is to get rid of the HoL as nominated peers, and replace it with an assembly formed by proportional representation of all parties - and restore its power to block legislation from the still constituency based and still FPTP HoC.
Getting rid of HoL probably would be something that would fall on fertile soil in most Labour constituencies, if not maybe MPs offices as they might see the cushy retirement number disappear.
