A Political Thread pt. 2

The state of politics when people will put up with or vote for incompetence and scandal. Because there parties incompetence and scandal is better than the alternatives.

At this point I'll vote for who ever i think is the most competent and honest local candidate rather than a party or chance of winning the election.

Democracy is great in principle but I just don't feel like celebrating it when we have a broken and rotten political system that is designed to ensure that power rotates between two establishment parties. It's also set up to allow those in power to lie, line their pockets and enjoy immunity from breaking the law and basically doing other dishonest ****. The only saving grace is that there are other countries that happen to be much worse.

I can see why, but the lesser of 2 evils is a genuine thing if you feel that one of them is genuinely interested in harming you.

We desperately need some form of PR so that we can viably vote for who we want, rather than to oppose who we don't want

Amazing to think hat just recently my dislike of ll politicians was an argument point, now it seems everyone is on board...

Anarcho communism anyone?

I was referring to the current shower of main party leaders which will be the primary factor in some people's minds when casting their vote. Others base their decision on the candidate to become/remain MP and potentially their track record. That doesn't mean I think all politicians are bad.

I don't think Ed Davey is PM material but the fact that he's currently the least depressing choice speaks volumes about our party leaders.

I couldn't agree more

Crazy and highly disturbing how many turned out yesterday. Tommy Robinson doing his pre protest caveat of "no violence" was just BS just like Trump on Jan 6th's "march peacefully" . Both knew it would attract the thugs.
The police must be getting fed up with it. I think you had a similar number of assaults with Palestine Action last week.

The only good thing is a significant amount of officers will have next years summer holiday already paid for in over time.

I did find it weird how religion is creeping into it. Saying the Lords Prayer on the march etc. I've never had Brits as being particularly religious.
