A Political Thread pt. 2

its intersting you dont mention the attacks on Isreali troops or the fake remains sent to Isreal as provocation for breaking the terms of the ceasefire.

I dont know who is in the wrong, but i would certainly be fair enough to consider both sides of the escelation before taking a side, i wonder why you didnt?
Ragey is pretty fair and balanced.

I don't think it's outrageous at all to imply that Israel will use any little, or large, thing as an exuse to keep the fighting going. Both these sides are perfectly primed to carry on fighting each other for another century. Netenyahu is clearly, in part at least, motivated by staying out of jail and was brought to heel a bit by Trump (though for how long who knows) so him using anything as an excuse to prolong the fighting and delay his day in court is pretty likely in my opinion.

I also think it's pretty reasonable that the Hamas fighters that are left genuinely don't know where the dead hostages are/can't get to them in the rubble. An extra week or so could be extended in my opinion.

Not defending Hamas especially in the absence of any independent fact checking but I don't see why they would release all living hostages and then play silly buggers with some dead bodies. The ceasefire agreement should have involved sending in some independent red cross personnel to attempt to verify the whereabouts of the dead hostages (not easy granted) so that the necessary equipment could be sent in and reasonable timescales to recover the bodies agreed on both sides. Instead we're in a their word against ours situation and nobody knows who to believe.

It's definitely possible that they just want to **** with Israel and start fighting again to spin a "Israel broke the ceasefire" Narrative but I think you also have to be fair and realise it might also be quite hard for them to actually get to them/know where they are in the first place.

Also, not being funny, and I don't want to diminish dead bodies being returned or to suggest it's not important but we are talking about dead people here. A little perspective perhaps while there are, you know, actual people who are alive that we need to give more consideration to (on both sides obviously)

It must be very hard for the families of the dead hostages watching the living ones reunited with their families. I suspect it's a matter of closure for the families and optics for the Israeli Govt who won't want to look like they have abandoned or forgotten about those who died (especially with so much campaigning by the public) but I get your point 👍

And i agree with this 100%, but fair and balanced considers both actions, im hardly a Netinyahu defender, and ive been very critical of Isreal, but to blame them solely, and make the claim Hamas rerurned "every single body" isnt fair or honest.

The reports coming out from both sides are disgusting, and are designed to be, the best we can do is listen to both angles, and make an hinest judgement.

I dont know whos in the fault, Hamas have not returned all the bodies, have still peppered Isreali troops throughout, and im sure Netinyahu will restart the wa as soon as he can.

This has been the problem since day 1, except organisations like the UN have taken Hamas reports as fact since the beginning. Thats doesnt help

The only part of that is that it was Netinyahus red line wasnt it, the return of every hostage along with others. He cant exactly step off that demand now, hes put himself in a corner

Strange election in the Netherlands, Wilders on track to win again, but the parties have refused to allow him in government even if he does, some quotes from them seem concerning.

Wilders best hope he can not lose too many seats from the 30 odd he got last time, doesnt look like he'll improve.

1 character has started to stand out though, Botenbal is a calm, trustworthy (albeit religious) kind of guy, he doesnt lower himself to gutter politics, or send soundbites on twitter to attack others, he speaks the CDU message, keeps the message focused, andni think he will do well, its a shame he isnt centre left, thats exactly what they need right now.

No wonder the BBC are accused of being pro Reform with this as the main headline. Who cares about a £500 payment to get rid. Its probably £499 more than Prince Andrew's annual rent.

BBC News - Migrant sex offender given £500 after threat to disrupt deportation
