Ed was always a crap leader TBH.

I can't see the exit polls being right how much of the vote do they poll?

Mind you I am loving the Green Party voters reactions some though the greens had a chance (the policies are the most unrealistic I have ever seen)

If I was to vote it would have been Cons most likely.

20,000 people asked on the exit polls - decent number but obviously tiny compared to the actual number of votes.
Everyone, including Conservatives, seem pretty sceptical of the numbers.
Lib Dems would drop from 57 seats to 10, if it came true - Clegg really f***ed them over the last few years, going to be a long long time before people have any faith/trust in them (not that a massive amount of people did to start with, but they had a large proportion of the student/young people vote - which they instantly lost when they 180d all of their student fees promises).

Ed looks/acts like a bit of a weirdo, and maybe wouldn't be a charismatic leader but I'd have much more faith in him making the correct choices/decisions than Cameron.
He actually has an area of expertise (economics) and it just feels like he's not as disconnected from the real world as the Tories/Cameron.

Yeah well those same student/young people end up voting Tory once they move into the real world

Wasn't the exit poll spot on last time?

Do they, though?
I don't know a single person who votes Conservative.
That includes people I went to University with, and people where I live which is a massive tory hotbed (70% of the vote last time).

YouGov poll looks more likely. (Although it is a smaller percentage taken) IMO.

If the BbC poll is right could see Cameron doing a deal with just the DUP.

If you gov is right reckon the majority would be
Cons, Lib Dems and DUP

Shocker lab hold 2 northern seats.

;)

Protest votes swinging to UKIP.

Lib Dem are falling hard in votes. Although predictable.

You don't know a single person who admits to voting conservative. Most people leave university and tend to move to above average wages, when your not claiming benefits, paying high taxes and working hard with a work based health care scheme even if you were a right on, middle-class socialist at uni the compulsion to vote Tory is often too great. Just don't tell your old uni friend's......

I have to say I know more people who have shifted from left to right than vice versa.

Although last election I was in 6th form and they all brought the BS that Lib Dem sold them about free uni fees. So that will swing some.

What coverage are people watching?

Perhaps,
Everyone I know is Labour or Green, though a number of those aren't particularly fans of Labour (or Green) just that they don't want another Conservative government.

I've got the BBC on, but I'm not particularly paying attention - sod all happened for ages so they're just talking round in circles.

Yeh I'm going to go to sleep soon.

Greens were a waste of a vote no matter what if you want to try and keep cons out surely Labour would have been the only choice?

Dont know how old you are but I grew up in the 80s when Maggie was in and everyone hated her apart from Champange swilling Yuppies and right toffs (apparetly) and no one would ever vote for the tories, no way sir not me! hate the woman.....yet she managed to win 3 elections so someone must have been voting.

Being Labour/Lib Dem/Green (why bother) is still considered the 'right' thing to be with certain people but we tend to be a bit more selfish than we will admit to others.

We need a proportional system. In my constituency it was won convincingly by the Tories and I believe is in the top 30 safest Tory seats. I don't vote Tory so much vote is being wasted. A reformed house of Lords based on a proportional system for the national vote and then an AV system from MPs would ensure the most representative parliament.

Waiting to see if Galloway has finally lost his seat.

Hope so, bloke a twerp.

Rumour is Farage is going to lose very badly which will please half the drivers at work.

It's not so much the party but the fact that safe constituencies mean votes for anyone other than the encumbant are a complete waste and in close seats it's possible for 2 parties with very similar total votes to end up with very different number of seats. FPTP is an old system for a time before technology.

Labour losses because of their leftwards drift this election.
Lib Dems losses because of their rightwards drift since the last election.

Don't think Ed Miliband or Nick Clegg can come back from this if the result ends up like the exit poll. (Nick Clegg may even lose his seat!) If so, both parties to install new leaders and distance themselves from the current state of the party. Labour to install someone more aligned with New Labour, Lib Dems to install someone from the Beveridge Group.
