This is an excellent documentary for anyone intrested in rugby about the Irish team's progress from November right up to the end of the 6 nations. It's very well made and I would highly recommend it even if you have no intrest in irish rugby.

Trust me you'll enjoy it

Very good. Thanks.

Before the England game, was there someone puking up in the dressing room?

This irish team has alot of spirit... and obviously a great love for the F-bomb.

Ta, i enjoyed that.

Looks pretty damn good! I'm looking forward to watching the rest of it after school.

Sort of shows how different countries approach the sport. The irish seem to do a lot of psyching up for games through aggressive speeches, very different to island and Kiwi sides. Kiwis tend to do there talking on the field and I find it difficult to see a guy like Richie giving that sort of speech. Islanders tend to relax more and horse around a bit have a joke and say lots of prayers. The irish fellows looked like they were getting ready to go to war.
Could be wrong though. Would be fascinating to see inside the dressing room of the ABs pre and post match, to see what is said. It's a nice way to see the real personality of the players, rather than the cliche interviews they always give. Would never be done though as they wouldn't allow anything that might potentially harm the ABs image as being family friendly and something kids can aspire to.
Thanks for this video it made me glad that I don't play rugby professionally(at least in Ireland). Too much pressure and macho talk for a laid back fellow like myself. :)

Yeah I heard that too, sounded like someone was definitely yakking...That was a really good picture of what actually goes on behind the scenes. It reminds me of something similar I saw from the Lions tour of Australia a few years ago, Fox Sports showed a doco a few months later with all the behind the scenes, all the dressingroom speeches and so forth, I really enjoyed it.

I'd also completely forgotten about the Ronan O'Gara choking thing. Did anything ever come of that?

No, but I dont think there was anything malicious in it. Neither did the press (though they enjoyed the free headlines), or the citing commissioner.

I think it was more that the squad got the shite scared out of them, as one of their close friends came close to a very serious injury. The video didnt show any wrong doing and while it was a nasty incident, it looked like a typically unfortunate rugby incident.

TBH, having been at the game there was a bit of panic in the crowd, but i couldnt name one scottish player (or TBH, any forgein ones) who would deliberatly choke another player. The nature of the game means things like this will happen from time to time, and i think that was nothing more than an (unwelcome) reminder of how easy it is to pick up a serious injury.

There was actually a very similar incident in a Scottish lower-leauge football match last season where a player ended up spending 4 days in hospital - and if it can happen accidentally in football then it can happen in rugby easily.

Yeah great documentary. I'd love to see a more detailed thing about stuff like this. f*** the reality shows of the now. Something following a rugby team through a season would be far far better.

they did a similar thing here with Gretna FC 2 years ago, where BBC cameras followed the team into the first division and a scottish cup final - great program to watch.

However they went back and filmed last years first division win, but budget cut back meant they cramed the whole thing into half an hour - meaning you didnt see much more than you normally would.

I think I remember them doing something similar with Torquay a while back. It was when there were loads of clubs just about to merge. Twere a good show.

maybe they should film in the dressing rooms of all the 6N matches next season. would be really interesting to see the tournament from everyones persective.

also, next season id like to see what FH and Jason White say to fire up Scotland for the Calcutta Cup - not that they need to though.

excellent post

interesting fly on the wall viewpoint, they should do this with more international and club teams

Top marks, great style and insight into the campaign and the ups and downs.

Changing room scenes are rare. Good to see what happens at in the changing rooms at half time. Geez the coaches don't hold back.

This is a special team that every Irishman can be well proud. Hell Im a Kiwi and after watching that Im proud for rugby!
