Aviva Premiership - Round 9

Really wish it wasn't raining - considering Bath's forward dominance I'd love to see them run the ball more, but it's just constant kicking, and the amount of scrums is a bore.

Exactly this. Wasnt watching the game with 100% concentration but it did seem they were hesitant in spreading wide for whatever reason

Thought that Bath could have been a lot more clinical in that game. Should have put Quins to the sword with that kind of territory, possession and Quins losing 4 men to the bin (3 at the same time!). They kinda did this, and were very impressive, but could have probably stacked a lot more points on Quins.

Yeah, all of Eastmond's caps were with Sam.

Not sure how I didn't know that...

In reality Burgesses debut was OK... 3 involvements in horrid weather, shame it wasn't nicer and the scrum farce kind of ruined it as a game.

Wins down to 8, they really are missing a decent 2nd row.

Weather had a massive impact on the end of the game, and the pitch.

I think with a more experienced 10 we could have put a lot more points on the board.
Devoto is good but it was his first start at fh at senior level.

Meh, I think there must be better excuses when you make such hard work of scoring a try against 12 men. I thought they made several mistakes near the line, getting turned over and having to reset a bit further out, a little too regularly. Tried to set piece their way through the Quins defence. Didn't need dazzling ball skills, just a few more hard carries through the forwards.

Without scrum dominance I suspect that would have been a fairly tight game. And I don't think it should have been.

Seems weird to say after such a comfortable win, but we really did look mediocre for much of that game. I know the weather played a part but no amount of rain is worth three players. After 20 minutes it looked like a real rout and Devoto looked like a real* fly half. Then we let it slide, that's the difference between a good team with lots of good players and a championship winning side for me - Northampton or Sarries would've put 40 past Quins today with that dominance.

BTW, who's that reserve centre for Bath? Looked handy.
