[COVID-19] General Discussion

**** me reading daily wail comments just to **** with my brain.

One of the top comments
"they are blatantly violating your human rights and will to live, even a fool can see it. Covid has little to do with it."
Someone ask what rights
" The right of free movement,"

From a daily mail reader.........

To be fair - you've only got yourself to blame.
Next time just remember the golden rule of internet usage "don't read the comments section!"

I'd say you're being generous calling them a "reader".

I find it really shocking how social media is pushing people to share false narratives.

Take this for example, a guy I went to school with. Seemed relatively ok but since March has started to post stuff relating to anti-vaccines, microchips, the great reset, democrats being the front of a child sex trafficking ring were they drink their blood.

I see the posts and have now started to ignore how wrong the information is, even though I love a good conspiracy.

Today he posts a video which claims to show a teenager in Melbourne being choked and knocked unconscious because he was not wearing a mask, yet just spending a few minutes searching for the original news article records that he was removed for being antisocial and climbing over the fence to get back in.

Is anyone else finding that people they know are sharing false information and falling into a big hole of conspiracies?

Nobody I know that I trust is, I have a few Corbynites that have completely lost the plot on my timeline. But to be fair I gave up on them a long time ago.

I did a cull a few years back thanks to Britain First where I stated anyone who shared their ******** would be defriended. (this was about my third time pointing out very publically they were a far right facist organist). So it meant a lot of the anti vaxer went away.

Plus the fact a lot of the bulk of my friends know my infection control specialist friend and another friend who specialises in the transportation medical goods to remote locations. Being a public anti vaxer does promote a bit of a pile on in my circles.

So according to the governments own data Tier 1 did very little to stop the rate of infections increasing. Tier 2 slowed it down a bit. Tier 3 stopped it increasing and in some cases decreased the rate of infection. Lockdown has slowed the rate of infection and there are some areas where the rate has started to decrease.

Anyone else feel that we're going to see an insane spike over christmas as levels clearly aren't dropping fast enough?

Given the inherent time lag, I would expect the rate to be steadily rising over the Christmas, with an insane spike in early/mid January.

More tier 1 was a waste of time our entire response prior to lockdown 2.0 was basically asking for ****.

Reality is this is the first thing we've done lockdown 1 that actually makes sense. If lockdown is Tier 4 it makes sense most places would be in tier 3.

I know, was just looking forward to a pint next weekend

Sometimes the comments sections can be funnier than the article itself. Just need to take certain comments with a pinch of salt.
