Whilst America is around 60% fully vaccinated, UK and Germany are at 69%. Africa is on average less than 8%. We will not be safe unless we are all safe.

But anecdotally even after a booster, illness from the Omicron has been mild.

Yep that is what BBC understands. Announcement on the booster (more centres etc open for longer?) But no further restrictions, but we will see.

Suspect more Xmas parties will get cancelled voluntarily as peeps pull out next week. Perhaps just deferral is best course.

Well apparently the alert level has gone up to 4.



Surely if you have to change it from 3 to 4 you would look at measures to limit transmission? However, this is the conservative covid policy, who knows what actually happens when a decision is made. Certainly not science.

Level 5 is basically where we were last Xmas and lockdown.

Yeh with both Delta and Omicron driving cases and competing against each other, it's just a massive race to get those who haven't been vaccinated double jabbed: that % of the population between 70 and 89%. With the 11% are the under 12s. And even now the JVCI are considering vaccinating 5-11 year olds.
