[COVID-19] General Discussion

The ol' trump method:

COVID is fake, covid is not a big deal, gets covid, takes a cocktail of every drug under the sun, goes back to saying it's not a big deal because they got over it (with hundreds of thousands of dollars of experimental drugs/procedures)

Bet he still won't take the vaccine because "all you need is to be fit, healthy and take a multivitamin"

I came across this from a friend who is anti Covid Vax and believes the Democrats are part of a satanic paedophilic cult.

The demonisation of NHS workers is stark and unfortunate. It's reminding me of all the media coverage of when the junior doctors wanted a pay rise.

Anyone seen the trailers for "Help" on Channel 4?
As much as it does look like a good drama, and Comer and Graham are two of the best actors in the country atm, it just feels....a bit soon?

Then again maybe that helps with the impact of it

All seems to have come from one person being interviewed, not seen any actual stats to back it up.

Two week "firebreak" lockdown in October been floated to the press by the Gov

Their predictions must be pretty catastrophic for them to be considering another one - we're currently significantly behind where we were when Christmas got cancelled

Jesus…pretty much the whole argument in aus at the moment is about "learning to love with it" once we get the vax up…and that it pretty much completely based on the uk

Its plateau'ing but the last phase of vaccinations have not gone as well as the first phase, so we are somewhat 'behind' having complete control. there also a general attitude that givernement have tried to produce of being 'over it' COVID-19 doesn't make a single main story on the BBC website for the UK except one tangentially linked to furlough and job cuts.

The firebreak being mooted might be more to stick rocket up people's complacency rather than something significant. Really a factor of schools being a vector which they certainly around Easter and the effect they may or maynot have,

Yeh considering the timing and vaccine passports I suspect this is more a push to pressure some more people too take the vaccine.
Although reading into it, it does sound more of a contingency plan than an actual plan they intend on doing.
