I still can't believ how tight this CC has been. 5 teams have been gunning for semi-final spots since day one. Its exciting stuff. I hope the final is Freestate vs Bulls for 3rd year in a row.

I hope the Bulls can beat the Cheetahs and get 5 log points and the Lions can also pick up a win and WP could maybe lose and then they would be out. That would almost be perfect.

That would be perfect.
But i'm telling you, its gonna be a cracker at loftus on saturday. I really hope the bulls come through an win one. I wanna see them win at home again. It will be my money's worth for the season ticket!

As for who my money's on... I think Cheetahs. As long as the Sharks don't get it Ill be happy. WP might also have to loose to make me happy. One man teams are too glorified. If the Bulls can make the semis ill be happy too.

Its a sensitive subject... If the Bulls don't make it, i really hope the Lions get it. They have impressed me the most this season, and to make a 7 game streak(8 if you count the pumas game on the weekend) is not easy. They have really performed like a unit. If they and the Cheetahs could be in the final... What a game that will be!

Semi-finals this Saturday;

Cheat-us vs Tjarks in Bloemfontein

Bulls vs Weer Probeer in Pretoria

What a game it was in Pretoria, what a game! It has everything that currently SA rugby has to offer! Trully the best SA teams !

Man. I was at that game. Season Ticket at Loftus. What a game. Pierre Spies is truely becoming a national hero, and Philip Burger of the Cheetahs is excelling day by day. He is just a bit cocky though, but that can be sorted out. I hope is Bulls vs Cheetahs again for 3rd year running.

Go the Cheetahs hope they can beat the Sharks and set up a Cheetahs Bulls final with the cheetahs winning haha.

PS. Northern Transvaal is the Blue Bulls

Bull, just one question, have you ever seen you Eastern Transvaal team? I mean, have you heard of them in the past? We also had Northern Free Statem, Ras was a player coming from them !

Isn't the Leopards the old eastern transvaal? Northern Free state is probably the weakest union in SA. I remember a time when the gave them an 11 point lead before the start off each game.

What!! 11 pts, geez!

They must've been useless...

I dunno, the eagles are pretty darn bad to, even though they made the semi's of the "premiere division", I've been unfortunate enough to watch them a couple of times in George this season...

Yeah the Eagles made the semis way back when they were coached by Heyneke Meyer. At the moment Northern Free state are the worst, bottom of the log on first division without a win.

Leopards = Western Transvaal
Pumas = South-Eastern Transvaal
Valke = Eastern Transvaal

Hope that helps.

I'm off now to watch the 1st semi.

NOU die BLOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the final is Cheetahs vs Blue Bulls like it was suposed to!

Both team won their semis, WP and Sahrks didn`t count! Let`s hope for the best in the final!

Blue Bulls team for the final:

15-Johan Roets, 14-Akona Ndungane, 13-JP Nel, 12-Wynand Olivier, 11-Marius Delport, 10-Derick Hougaard, 9-Heini Adams, 8-Pierre Spies, 7-Derick Kuun, 6-Pedrie Wannenburg, 5-Francois van Schouwenburg, 4-Danie Rossouw, 3-Rayno Gerber, 2-Gary Botha (captain), 1-Jaco Engels.

Replacements: 16-Adriaan Strauss, 17-Danie Thiart, 18-Hottie Louw, 19-Hilton Lobberts, 20-Neil Powell, 21-Morne Steyn, 22-Stefan Basson

What a Currie Cup. :bana:
Who would of thought it wou;d a draw.??

Watched the final - great game but what a cop-out taken by Gary Botha at the end.

It's the final seconds and you have the ball - he might as well have told his team to make one last effort to try and snatch the victory.

Several players I was hugely impressed with:

From the Cheetahs, Kabamba Floors - how is this guy not at least in the Springbok squad. Has the potential to be a truly world class players, his contribution was enormous. Phillip Burger also looks an immense talent. His speed and acceleration are out of this world. As was mentioned earlier in the thread, looks slightly cocky at times, but there his no substitute for the raw talent and pace he clearly has in abundance. Also thought hooker Richardt Strauss had a massive game, along with captain Ollie le Roux.

As for the Bulls, Pierre Spies was a bit quieter than I expected, but he is quite obviously going to be a force in world rugby if he continues in the same vein. The two wingers gave a good showing with the limited clean ball they received.

Both the Bulls 9 and 10 were **** though IMO. Hougaard in particular was awful, couldn't kick for toffee and was lucky to get injured and not have to suffer the embarassment of being pulled off for pure rubbishness.

Very exciting match though, especially for a neutral such as myself. Just a shame it was a little anti-climactic at the end.
