Dummy pass?

I was never able to do a dummy pass in 06, but now one of the challenges in 08 calls for one, so need to figure it out.. on my PC gamepad I have like:

[1] [4]
[3]


1: garryowen/high kick
2: punt
3: drop kick
4: grubber

L(shoulder) + 1 = Left sidestep
L + 3 = Right sidesteph
L + 2 = hand-off
L + 4 = shoulder charge


but how do I do a dummy pass? my 2nd analogue dosent do this..

You have to use the pass buttons. After pressing one of the pass buttons, press the other, but not straight after. Just wait about half a second.
