Dan the only one to lose his contract.
Baxter, Cowan-Dickie, Ben Curry, Daly, Heyes, Pollock, Roebuck, Stuart and Tom Willis added.

By position:
LP: Baxter, Genge
HK: Cowan-Dickie, George
TP: Heyes, Stuart
LK: Chessum, Itoje, Martin
FL: B. Curry, T. Curry, Earl, Pollock
N8: Willis
SH: Mitchell
FH: Ford, F. Smith, M. Smith
IC:
OC: Lawrence, Slade
WG: Feyi-Waboso, Freeman, Roebuck
FB: Daly, Furbank

Some I'm happy to see included who I don't think were last time round (Baxter, B. Curry, Willis, Roebuck). Some I'm not so fond of being included… (Slade the big one).

I presume because of the nature of it all 25 will have to be called up if Fit for all three groups of meet ups (Autumn. Six Nations and Summer)

I don’t see George or Cowan-Dickie starting at the World Cup through. Just feel like someone else will but not sure who that will be.

Why the **** are Daly and Slade still stealing a living. If Roebucks done enough then why hasn't Atkinson, and no offence to Ollie Lawrence but if you're out for the best part of a year then....?

Some weird picks in here and you'd think there would be a bit of room to hold a couple of contracts in reserve to reward breakthrough/consistent players that weren't quite there when the rest were confirmed

You say that every time.
Despite the RFU explicitly disagreeing with you.

Obviou, the chances are that they will though, as they're favoured by the head coach.

I think you could've polled every England fan in the country and no one would've put that exact 25 together

As above: Slade the only real shocker
Pleasantly surprised for Ford, Burry, Roebuck and Willis - all had good summers, but still good to see that rewarded

Some definite positives there. Happy with most of those new contracts. Especially Willis and Ben Curry.

Dan losing one is good, but not so good that both LCD and George have a contract. I feel that while both a good players it could well block the development of someone else and it's a risk that they'll both still be fit and in form in two years. Maybe part of the reasoning is to manage their fitness.

Slade keeping his is a bit depressing. He really needs to repay Borthwick's support.

Pollock feels too soon and possibly a bit premature like Dan.

I mean Slade is the only one I'd question I think the rest. I guess some will argue Pollock too I personally don't mind it.

Daly has been good and was very good on the Lions tour, a player like this is valuable in the squad.

Well they not going to say it but they not going to be keen on having paid for players they not using while paying futher for those not on a contract.

It's a risk with them for age/fitness but also the chance 1 or both gets tempted by a disqualifying offer before the World Cup and then Langdon, Dan or someone else has to become the starter with little experience.

No Farrell, I know people will say he was never getting one but I was convinced he would. Maybe this is copium but I hope this is a sign he's not straight back in.

The Times say the contract lengths are between 1 and 3 years. So Slade might have had a contract from last year that runs 2 or 3 years.

Don’t know whether Borthwick would deserve more criticism for giving Slade a new deal this year or for giving him a multi-year deal immediately after dropping him from his RWC squad.

To be fair Slade has a good 2023/2024 at club level in between being dropped and getting a central contract but is still underwhelming when he plays for his country.

I'm fine with most of it, but Slade? I really hoped we might have turned the page there. Particularly given how positive Borthwick has been about Atkinson.
