I'd imagine Farrell/Smith will drop into the backfield for covering on Defense, and looking to counter, but who knows at this point

We lost 28-27 but scored 14 points in the last 10 I think this was after we subbed Burrell for Ashton.
The follwing week we play Eastmond and Tualangi in the centers and lost by even more.
I'm just happy that Smith is at 10 and Steward is at 15. Definitely want to see them racking up experience and nailing down their places.
Tuilagi on the wing has got to be one of those 'Numbers don't mean much' moments from Eddie, where he's just going to float infield anyway. I really can't see him as an out-and-out winger.
As others have said, though, that's asking a lot of Steward and May in terms of cover

English selection is increasingly having a real je ne sais quoi about it while the French are making sense. Rugby is turning upside down.

That would still leave us open to having a faster winger taking Tuilagi on the outside. Given our defence has a tendency to leave space on the outside, this will exacerbate it. Farrell also offer no counter attacking running threat so it means they can be pretty sure he will either just hoof it back or try to pass to Steward.
Makes sense, then he can unleash his pace on the counter attack...

Seriously wtf is that. It's like a 12 year old on Fifa selecting all the highest rated players and not giving a **** about the balance of the team.
Curry is not a ******* 8. He gave England no forward momentum last week. He's a great flanker, who turns the ball over, slows down the opposition and is actually best linking up on the wing. Last week Dombrandt came on and it actually allowed Curry to focus on doing what he does best. That back row is not balanced at all.
Farrell is not a 12 and whenever he plays their he either slows down England's attack or stops it by ******* kicking it. Tuilagi is not a winger and we've already seen that you need wingers to be better aerially and positionally with the 50:22 rule. It's just going to leave England exposed. Even if Farrell does drop back, it means players are out of position. When we shift from attack to defence quickly, it will take time to get back into position leaving space. The opportunities it will give on turn over ball is not worth any benefit (not sure what) we would get in attack. Last week Slade spent most of his time being first receiver instead of Furbank and it meant he couldn't actually do his centre role properly. When Smith came it, it gave balance to the backline and Slade actually got to play properly at centre.
Honestly it's like he picks the names then figures out how to arrange them on it the pitch. Absolutely farce.

On the bright side., Manu isn't quick enough for a strategy of kick chases which means that Faz can't just punt the ball up in the air anymore
I remember watching a TV show as a kid about supergenuis child who was playing a supercomputer at chess. In the end he has to beat the supercomputer by playing moves nobody in their right mind would do thats how England approaches team selection. Except we ain't playing a super computer.
