The government has insisted it is a "coincidence" that it bought a lot more tickets for Olympic beach volleyball than it did for the athletics.

another question, why is there volleyball and beach volleyball? surely one is just enough, no one would ever say for example let's have beach gymnastics,weightlifting or fencing whilst forcing them all wear their swimming costumes, just have volleyball imo

out of interest does anybody know whether anybody has done a double and won gold at beach volleyball and volleyball

there are plenty other places people would go to before beach volleyball to stare at women, for example you could just go to some Sharks Super Rugby matches and do that and not have to pretend to have an interest in the sport

Brazil, China and the USA seem to pretty much rule all forms of volleyball.

I really hope Sweden have a good run this time after a low placed 9th last time

Beach volleyball is actually a hell of a lot harder than ordinary volleyball in my opinion... They're about as similar as indoor and outdoor football.

Also just to gloat that I have 2 tickets to the women's beach volleyball :lol:

Ordinary volleyball is also extremely boring to watch, while Beach is both athletically and aesthetically more pleasing.
