I has a New Brum!

I hate fords with a passion. My mum's old ford falcon (1995 futura) is on its second engine due to a design fault that Ford Australia admitted was in that particular model. other problems have included the electrics being shot for the windows etc. I will though concede that the escort is pretty good and is often used for entry into the sport of rallying.

now a real car is a holden looks good and has awesome performance. My mate back in nz used to take me and a few others out cruising in his Dad's ss commodore and it was just amazing the speed handling etc it had, totally kicked ford's ass.
[/b]
They are both shite, over here every douche who want to be like all his mates buy one.....have some f***ing originality...

A Holden is fair enough if you're refering to one of those 27-litre, million horsepower things, but every other Vauxhall is nowt more then a bag of Spanners.

honda civics blow too. they are often girls cars or as mentioned old peoples cars usally grandma's etc. if any sane guy gets a civic he better be sharing it with his girlfrien/wife. I would get almost anything before a f***ing honda civic. toyota or nissan are way better and hell I would even get a ford before the civic too.
[/b]

Apart from the Type-R

Exactly. Esoj, clearly lives in a world of his own (or australia) if he thinks old people buy type R's.

My Grandad has a Type R!!! and so do some of his mates....

my mom has a focus, and it's a bit stodgy and the handling isn't that smooth...however...

we might be talking about different types of fords here - north american vs. european versions

all I know is I'll miss my chevy prizm once i move, lightweight, ultra-smooth drove like a sports :(

But, shhh...we can't tell esoj that.

What the f___ did they do to the steering column? It seems they've played a joke on you, Mite...it's on the wrong side of the automobile! Good luck driving that! You'd have to be in some backwards country that drove on the left-hand side of the road to make sense of it, I believe.

yeah, like all those crazy Irish ********! :p

:lol2tn: Pwn'd!

However, for this Focus v Civic debate, I must admit I've only ever seen coffin dodgers or farmers drive Hondas (S2000s don't count). The Focus on the other hand is widely regarded as the best all-round medium sized car on the market and the amount that you see on the road backs this fact up.

Looks good there Mite...is it an LX or do they do CD players as standard now?

I love my Fiesta LX...the Fiesta and Focus from 02 onwards really are both tremendous cars. It's easy for the likes of Clarkson etc to bleat on about them but they are just really good affordable cars. If they want to drop his the new Lexus they are testing then fine I'll pick that but until then I'll settle for an average car I can afford with a decent drive and CD player, air-con, electric windows/mirrors, front and rear Quickclear screens etc etc

"Zetec Climate", whatever that means.
[/b][/quote]

Top of the standard range....I think you can get all sorts of sports limited editions but the Zetec is the best normal one you can get.

Anything from LX upwards is top....I particularly love my settable intermittent windscreen wiper (It's the little extras that make a vehicle)

Surely it's the basics (wheels, engine, a shell etc.) that make a vehicle...

US Focus:

(Basically the old shape with new lights)

UK Focus:

Very different animals. And as the yanks prefer a smooth ride so they don't pill their extra large chips and litre of coke while they drive and connect the wheels to the chasis with a 6" layer of treecle , the UK one I'll bet handles a damn sight better.

extra large chips and litre of coke [/b]

hey you forgot my 2/3 pound cheeseburger with everything on it and my brownie a la mode with extra helpings of vanilla ice cream...BTW they're called fries and you spelled liter wrong, although i have been known to drive around with a large bag of "crisps" :p

and let me just point out that the cup holders in the Focus are really a disgrace - they don't even hold a 12 oz. soda :ranting:

Is that becuase american roads don't have any corners?
Kind of explains why a Harley Davidson is so shite in this country.
