no, i understand what you're saying but to me it makes more sense to have a reversal of the standard kit on the shirt... and with the socks being black...
The socks are blue, not black.
The shirts are essentially heraldic - black is not an English heraldic colour.
Red is - it's also arguably more credible as an English "national colour" than white is.
The colours should always be that of your country's flag. I like a plain white top and a plain red top for the away shirt.

I got your point but away shirts aren't purely practical. If you were going to be that utilitarian then it'd be better to just assign each nation with a different colour.
Yeah, I've got no issues with a new kit each season - if people want to buy it then crack on, of not then the last X years worth are similar enough that it doesn't really matter.

I don't think they have a stock design - they have a number of options that the client can choose from, because there is always a degree of variation between team's with Canterbury kits.

It's a very important revenue stream for them.
