Now that I'm hearing more stuff, I'm wondering if Beale could actually be a scapegoat in all of this? Do you think he may have acted as a sort of whistleblower, perhaps addressing (albeit innappropriately) in public major issues that have been stewing behind the scenes, and now it's finally all boiled over?
I really don't know (or really care) about the politics of Australian rugby, but I can't help but feel there's maybe more to this than Beale's rant and that, perhaps, this is just the tip of a very big iceberg. My only real concern is what it'll spell for rugby union in Australia, especially with league having what seems to be a good foothold in the country. Fans, sponsors, and money may all start shifting league's way if people get fed up union's off-pitch antics.
