Next EA rugby game

More leagues (France, Italy, Magners League and maybe a rest of the world league), more real players, more real competitions (Currie Cup, Air NZ Cup etc), more classic matches.

Transfer options in-game, more stats in competition mode, increased AI and difficulty but in a realistic manner.
 
-A roster rugby editor would be nice
-Awareness stat added
-Tournament editor
-Better Create a Player mode. Even a choice of a hundred faces would be better than the current face editor.
-Custom Music Tracks (I hate the music on 06)
-Improved Commentery

i'd like to see turnovers of possession be more determined by what you'd expect. A perfect tackle well behind the gain line never turns over, but breaking through almost always results in a turnover.



Also some decent AI. It would be nice for the game to be challenging without having to play as a 55 rated team versus the all blacks.



more responce for timing of passes. Just drawing a defender and passing is way too difficult.

everything above, but also maybe some variation in attack. The new next gen sports games have adapted this whole free style moves tingy, i think it would be an awsome idea for rugby. Would really give a deffernt approach to attacking, also making it more fun. No 1 player side steps the same, esprecially forwards and backs! Next gen is a must for next year!! everyones calling for it!

A Manager/Franchise mode that is at least 20 seasons long and has a good progression system in it ala Madden. Deliver that and I'll buy the game. If it's not there I won't.
 
Take the gridiron out of madden and insert rugby. That would be a dream, madden is so fecking awesome. So basically exactly identical to madden in structure (including expansive range of commentary, stats, better highlights, franchise modes, etc..............) but with rugby instead. It's that simple.

Rather than have the World League, just have an expansion type thing. Choose what League you want to enter and start from scratch - have to sign fringe players, as well as the old craptacular gang (Heffler, i'm talking to you).

Oh yeah, and tone down the punting of star players, but increase the range of the non-star players. I mean it's either "95m every punt" with the likes of Carter and Montgomery, but everyone else kick like girls/Tasea Lavea
 
Just the game play is enough. Stop all the players running for the ball like a game of schoolboy football for 6 year olds.

Allow you to pass a ball out realistically without entering the tackle animation.

Get the rules right.

Make the Who recieve the ball random.like a prop can get the ball on wing or centre.
Make IT MULTIPLAYER ON THE PC, MAKE IT ONLINE......
 
They need to speed the forming of rucks up...it takes like 5 seconds for a ruck to form after a player hits the ground. Thats why tackles that would most likley be turn overs in real life are'nt in the game, you tackle a bloke 10 metres behind his own line of players but they have more than enough time to stroll on back and form the ruck to secure possession. The ruck animation should initiate within 1 second of the tackle occuring (provided someone is on the spot to form the ruck). If there is no opposition to compete for the ball within another couple of seconds, the first man to the ruck takes possession and can run. Players with a tick for the rucking skill can take even less time to gain possession.

With a faster and more responsive rucking system the game would be looser and more free-flowing, with a lot more scrambling defense.

Momentum is determined by speed and personal ruck stats entering the ruck.



Speed power entering rucks should be determined by angle from the players joining the ruck to the position of the tackle. running BACK to a ruck for instance means less power entering it.

Good point.Better AI for a start with a Multiplayer option.If they can give us these two things we can go much further with the game.And maybe we should just send EA a copy of the IRB rugby rules before they bring out Rugby 09 as well as a detailed roster as they don't seem to understand the impotartance of this in the game. :bravo:
