O'Leary Out - who should be called up?

Cusister will be hindered by his involvement with the Top 14 as his side games would not finish until the day of the third Lions game

won't make a difference, Lions tour is recognised by the IRB so there's no issue over his release as there's no issue with Hines.

It better be Mike Blair, but they'll pick Danny Care..[/b]

how can you have an issue with that given that Care is in better form, or since you want SA to win do you want them to pick Blair for other reasons ;)

Maybe he recognises the S.A backrow will eat Care, perhaps literally, particularly if he does his stupid crabbing.

That said if we want to p1ss them off in the midweek games Danny seems to have the lip.

It does make a difference im afraid. Its been reported in the media also. It therefore makes the like of Blair, Peel, Care and Stringer in a better position than him.

If selected he'll be in the same boat as Hines, who won't be playing in the playoffs.

As a Scotsman, I would prefer Cusiter over Blair...I think Blair takes too long at the back of rucks. However, he did nearly lead Scotland to a victory over SA in the Autumn so he knows all about how to play their back-row.

Cusiter does bring some urgency, drive and energy (like Danny Care) that Ellis and Phillips don't.

Im afraid its a little more complicated than that, I have seen no where were the French teams have to release the Lions players and most media say that Cusiter would be still in France with the play offs.

Quote BBC:

A call-up for Cusiter could be complicated given the involvement of his Perpignan side, who are currently leading the Top 14 with two games left, in the French Championship play-offs.
The semi-finals do not take place until the weekend of 29/30 May, when the Lions play their first tour match, with the final on 6 June, the date of the Lions' third match.[/b]

well Perpignan didn't play Hines this weekend because they knew they'd be without him for the semi-final and there's no way that McGeechan would have picked a player if he was going to miss as much as 4 matches.

Quite suprised Cooper hasn't been mentioned

been before, was above peel in the 6 nations?

not saying he should go, but if your mentioning cusiter

We are not talking about Hines here you know ;)[/b]

explain to me the difference then.
[/b][/quote]

Hines plays second row and Cusiter plays scrum half ....

Cusiter would not be available until after the 3rd game it seems so its pointless in taking him.

you're not getting my point then, why would Hines be available and Cussiter not?

Im not talking about Hines here im talking Cusiter thats the point, you can talk all about Hines but im discussing Cusiter.

It is known that Cusiter would not be available until after the third game of the tour and therefore he is not worth taking. I dont know why Hines is available and not but I have been informed by a mate who lives in France that this is the case.

Seen nothing of this anywhere ...

Remember TV pundits saying a while a go and players could miss games because of club commitments for British teams.
