Newcastle have snapped up England Under-20s scrum-half Jordi Pasqualin for next season.

Pasqualin had come through the academy system at Gloucester, making 15 first-team appearances this season.

However the 20-year-old, who is originally from Sheffield, has now agreed to move to the Falcons at the end of the current campaign.

And Newcastle head coach Alan Tait believes Pasqualin can be the man to inspire the backline.

Tait said: "I'm keen to build a young team here and Jordi is somebody I've been looking at.

" I like the way he plays the game and nine times out of 10 he will always find his No.10 with the pass.

"This is a step forward as we look to bring attacking rugby to Kingston Park."

"nine times out of 10 he will always find his No.10 with the pass."

For a player who's sole job is passing the ball to the number 10, that's a really shitty stat. 10% wonky passing?

He's had limited opportunities but when he has been given a chance, he's rarely let us down. His pass is a little high, but he's definitely young enough and I think he'll make quick progress at Falcons.
