If you watch the last 90 seconds he was consistently calling for the ball, directly under the postsI think Carreras bottled it. Surely it was his call.
Dumb forwards blew it for BFC

Have you tried... watching the match?I dont understand the rationale behind those blaming Carreras. First it s that he didnt ask for the ball. Then, when evidence is produced of him desperately asking for the ball, shouting and using his hands, it becomes that he had a better option earlier, and so on...
If he didn’t ask for the ball, then the blame would be on him. Granted (a).
If he asked for the ball, received it, and didn’t take the drop goal, that would also be on him. Agreed (b).
If he asked for the ball but didn’t receive it, then the blame cannot be on him.
(a) and (b) didn’t happen.
Listen, Sherlock, people are implying he didn’t ask for the ball, so pointing that out seems like the obvious first step. Logic doesn’t appear to be your strongest suit, but try to keep up. Otherwise, the discussion gets a bit dull.you seem to think it came as a surprise to people who actually watched the match, and saw (commented?) on it at the time - as if him calling for it is a revelation that completely changes the picture.
Oh yes, of course. Why do we need video, analysts, and commentators at all if our resident Nostradamus can, with pinpoint precision, tell us what would have happened in hindsight?Yes, he called for the ball - so that he could throw a pass out wide to let the backs have a go
That’s a strawman fallacy in logic, the keyword being ‘fallacy’. And I dont think he deserves Arg’s # 10 jersey. So much for allegedly being unwilling to criticise my countrymen.Careeras may be Argentinian - but he is not immune from criticism when he manages a game poorly - particularly when he manages the game badly in the closing minutes or a 1 point loss.
