Forget the 6 Nations, forget the Top 14 or the Aviva......the Pro 2 is with us again and nine games left to determine who will play off to gain the other promotion spot and join Pau in the Top 14 next year in battling relegation for the following season!!!!
Albi (8th) take on Massy (13th) in what is an important game for both sides. A home win would keep them in with a good chance of a play off place whilst a Home defeat would lift Massy away from the relegation battle which they are only 5 points away from at the present time. This should give comfort to Albi rather than Massy!
Narbonne (15th) are in desperate need of some results and they host Carcassonne (11th) who are five points away from a play off position but have only won twice out of 10 on the road. Given this and the fact that Narbonne have won 4 out of 10 at home, I go with Narbonne to struggle over the finish line on Saturday.
The leaders, Pau, take on Bourgoin (14th) and this result cannot be in doubt and Pau will not give up their unbeaten home record this week!
Aurillac (5th) are home to Tarbes (12th) who would appear to be safe from the relegation battle being 13 points ahead of 15th place and should not pose a problem for Aurillac who should win easily.
Biarritz (7th) straight from consecutive losses against three of the big teams will be seeking to get their season back on track and will have Erik Lund back after his successful run out for the Espoirs last week and long term injury. They should win against Beziers (9th) who need a win to keep their own play off chances. Hard fought but BO to come through finally!!
MdM (4th) travel to Colomiers (10th) who have little to excite them being six points away from play off positions. MdM have only won 2 out of 10 on the road and Colomiers lost 2 out of 10 home matches but can see MdM winning!
Bottom placed Dax should give second place Agen an easy win while drifting further away from safety and nearer relegation.
The final match of the weekend sees USAP (3rd) take on Montauban (6th) in what should be also the best match of the round. Having said that, USAP are unbeaten at home and Montauban only 2 wins out of 10 away! Cannot see USAP lose this one and that is good for BO who need some of those ahead to start slipping up!!
