Re-Union's "Big Issue"

What do to about the mess at the breakdown, both in the SH (under the ELV's) and the NH (under the existing laws).

This poll has been broadcast on Sky's "Re-Union" rugby show. I'm interested to see what TRF users think.

I'm not interested in any discussion about the breakdown, just in the vote.

I will post the "Re-Union" poll result when its broadcast on Tuesday.

What is the key to resolving the mess at the breakdown?

1. Tougher refereeing
2. Allow use of the hands
3. Bring back Rucking

but in all seriousness - 1. the simple fact is that teams cannot slow the ball down when convienent. sure its not league, where a tackle is made and its almost play on - but you cant have a 15 second delay on the next play. however, a bit of rucking quckly teaches the opposition rather than a penalty by the reff.

any chance of this being a permanent topic? would like to have trf opinions on re union polls.

yeah hands in the ruck is going to make a complete mess of it all. sure every team does it - it doesnt make it right.

Bring back rucking - obviously no jumping and down on anybody, but have it strictly enforced - anywhere near the head, whether on accident or purpose, automatic red card.

I'm not really familiar with the Invision board setup. I use phpbbv3 and so I'm used to that

Did you tick either the "multiple choice" box or the other one?

Or did you possible press "close poll form"?

No. Didn't click either of these. All I did was click the "Preview Post" button. It didn't show the poll, but not being familiar with the Invision software, I didn't know whether that was normal. Should be poll have shown when I previewed?

Mmmm but the only problem is that we had 12 respond to the poll and they had hundreds or even thousands! ...but I suppose #3 shows up the clear winner in both, so 3 it is!

I think rucking coming back would work well but I also think the ref needs to be tougher at the breakdown, I think there should be some way to penalize but keep the game flowing...

the ref should carry metal rulers... when someone infringe at the breakdown, WHACKKK!! thats gonna leave a mark. Opps wrong person.. WHAACK
