RFU rules against London Welsh

The kassam is a municipal multi-use arena. In theory, yes they have.

LW's biggest problem comes back at Williams getting up the noses of the RFU trying to throw his weight about. In a notoriously nepotistic and masonic organisation like that, the last thing you need to do is start making threatening gestures. Unless of course you want to be black balled...

Why is everyone making such a big deal of it this year. as has been said before pirates lost out but didnt go for a rfu appeal they just stood back and said we have won the championship anyways when was the last time welsh were a top flight side? cos tbh would it be really worth them coming up if they wer just gonna be the whipping boys? finally falcons must have some big plans next season signing dean richards as DOR and a fusilade of new players (Chris York, Andrew Higgins,Oliver Tomaszczyk,Alex Crockett, Rory Lawson, Carlo del Fava, Tane Tu'ipulotu and Scott MacLeod) seems like they have learnt from this season and dont wanna be in this position again.

Because pirates took themselves out the equation before (not) winning the playoff, LW want to go up.

Plus it stinks that Newcastle again survive on a technicality.

Ring any bells?

Yeah they were the team that ensured they had everything sorted before going up and hence why they have survived......developed a ground where their fan base was, didnt just up sticks 55 miles to a rented ground. Ensured they would benifit from the crowds the premiership gave by investing in not only a team that would win the championship but also in the facilities around the ground.

Dont compare Exeter to London Welsh because they are totally different.

Yup, totally different.

LW beat Exeter home and away the season that Exeter went up.

Exeter stayed up, and almost qualified for the playoffs this season, with broadly the same squad that won them promotion.

Dunno why LW want to go up, just to get the same sort of failure as Exeter.

They aren't.

Balls to the off feild stuff, rugby is played on the pitch and on the pitch London Welsh are actually a better side than Exeter were when they came up. Hypothetically if LW have their stadium in order and the RFU let them come up I'm fairly sure they wont be the whipping boys as arrogantly stated before by Howzy

On that note, Irish & Sarries don't deserve premiership status either...

* wasps and sale** have technical ownership

**sale at edgeley park, god knows what the arrangement in Salford means.

With Rugby League it doesn't matter as Sky is the sugar daddy of the Aviva and Super League, so they can switch things around suit their needs with no fuss.

Though, of course, if an RFU side were to be playing in a League stadium then they'd probably be denied promotion anyway.

Totally agee! so why add to the folly by bringing in another "London" club that dont own a ground

So did pirates and rotherham but didnt go up why all the fuss over Oxford Welsh?

Ah I see what you did there.

But seeing as you still cannot get it into your mind and we have been over this earlier but London Welsh have shown what the RFU want in terms of criteria. But then as an arrogant Tigers fan you cannot seem to understand that, and you will continue argue it, it's like going round a roundabout. Your argument is old, fact remains London Welsh have earned the right to be there and unless Welsh challenge then the same old ring fencing will occur and teams like Pirates, Welsh and others won't be allowed when they have earned the right.

There is a fuss every time a club is wrongly denied what they deserve, not just with London Welsh, their proper name.

Ah! That old chestnut. Love how your making this a plucky Welsh team taking on the big arrogant English RFU. Its nothing to do with ring fencing, Exeter and Leeds have both been promoted so I dont see where this fence is. If we need to relegate Watford, Wycome Wasps and Reading Irish too then fine. If Exeter are able to develop there own ground with their fan base then so should everyone else who wants to play in the Premiership.
