Hello,

I’m trying to get my friend into Rugby Union. What games would you guys recommend to watch? I’m looking for something with a lot of action, points and turns of events. I would like also rather high level game, with big crowd (to create in his mind association: shitload of people came to watch rugby -> rugby must be awesome -> it’s awesome indeed :bulb:).

I was thinking about showing him this last RWC final, for me it was a thriller, but he might not appreciate it (especially that there wasn’t too many points scored). I think 2011 Heineken cup final would be good.

Any suggestions? :russian_ru:

2011 Heineken Cup final would definitely be a good one, it was a fantastic game.
2012 Aviva and Rabodirect Pro12 finals would be good as well, both exciting games.

2009 Super 14 Final - Bulls vs Chiefs at Loftus.

2009 B&I Lions tour of SA, 2nd test at Loftus.

Both great intense games, each one packed stadiums and a whole different outcome.

Does it have to be recent? I think the most thrilling game ever that fits 'high level' and 'big crowd' definitely was Australia v NZ 12 years ago.

Thank's mates! I will add these games to the playlist.

dudeabides Indeed, this game was fantastic, but I would prefer more recent matches, it's much easier to find them in good quality on internet machine.

The 2010 Boks vs Wallabies tri nations game that finished 41-39 to the wallabies who kicked a pentalty 50 out after full time, brilliant game.

2011 Heinekin, 2010 Premiership Final, Sharks vs Crusaders at Twickenham 2011.

this is a fun game to watch for a newcomer, not too many scrums, plenty of tries and linebreaks, and the lead changed several times

I enjoy a tight game much more than a thrashing. For that reason, I recommend matches from the Tri Nations over World Cup matches. The World Cup is only interesting from the quarters.

Some group matches are excellent. Of course most Irish peoples favorite WC match is a group match.;)

The 2010 Tri Nations series, great tournament, I have the matches from the latter half on my PC.
Really enjoyable and close, specifically the matches played in South Africa.
