Rugby Union games for newbies

The 2012 PRO 12 final for definite. Loads of tries and quality on both sides.

Do you want your friend to start playing rugby or just watching it? Coz you might want to pre-watch whatever match you show him if you want to get him playing so it doesn't have any of this:

Thanks for so many great picks. We weren't able to watch them all (yet!), on first line went 2011 HC final, then Australia v NZ from 2000 and finally this year SA vs England spring tour game.

My friend enjoyed these games, especially rucks (which was surprising to me, because when I saw my first game I had no idea whatsoever what is that mess and what for). Later we got so drunk that I decided that we are not able to appreciate game anymore (unless in slow motion) and that was the end of first session.
He liked the games very much and is on a way to the bright side. :bana:

Right now I'm trying to get him into watching, so blood, fights and massive tackles won't be a problem

LOL

Alright, little summary from previous posts, so far we got:

Australia v NZ 12 years ago.
2010 Boks vs Wallabies tri nations game
<strike>most All Black games</strike>
2010 Premiership Final
Sharks vs Crusaders at Twickenham 2011.
Australia - New Zealand from the 2011 Tri-Nations
Any Leinster Clermonnt match
NZ-Wales 2003
Barbarians-All blacks 1973
Wales v New Zealand 2004
2010 Tri Nations series
Sharks vs Crusaders 2007 Super 14

Not sure if it's been mentioned (and it's a bit of a lopsided score), but how about New Zealand v Scotland (14/6/75)? I'm just watching it now, and the pitch looks like a swimming pool...the match like a backyard game of Slip 'n Slide. :) The thing I notice the most about the difference between this match and the modern game is the scrum - no pissin' around with 'crouch, touch, pause, engage'...they just get right to it without all the fancy talk. Makes the game move much faster.

das

PS: It's worth the watch for the Wolverine muttonchops and Yosemite Sam moustaches, alone! :D

It's going back a few years, but New Zealand vs France from the 1999 RWC was one hell of a match.

More recently, how about Harlequins vs Wasps from the start of this season's Aviva Premiership.
