This from Rugbyrama says it all and shows why he is being honoured. Biarritz Olympique and Serge Blanco owe him a lot............

HOMAGE - Serge Kampf, founder of Cap Gemini, died at the age of 81. Passionate about sport, rugby this patron was notably supported clubs Biarritz and Grenoble, and the international selection of Barbarians. Our colleague Midi Olympique, Jacques Verdier, has paid tribute to him.

The man was a lord. A wrist strength, strength of character, he created the company in 1967 Sogeti and Capgemini made a few years later, one of the world leaders in IT services. A company of 140 000 people, no less, in 44 countries. But more than the admirable professionalism of this great captain of industry, it is generosity that we wish here to highlight, itself linked, nested, to his great passion for rugby.

It is these qualities that led him to help to sponsor such different clubs Biarritz, Grenoble (his hometown in which he expressed his life a steadfast fidelity) but also Bourgoin, Auch, Lourdes. Countless also the number of players in difficulty or seeking any assistance in starting a business, open a business, he has helped, worn without asking anything in return and with that taste of secrecy that was his trademark.

Serge Blanco, Jean-Pierre Rives, Denis Charvet were in some way his spiritual son as they say of a father, but he helped dozens and dozens of other rugby players offering, it will be remembered probably watches prices for all french players who participated in the first World Cup of 1987 and substituting for the FFR in crisis in 1991 to make the players their due.

Nature of man - his eyes a very pure blue have scared more than one - man of conviction, he no longer lived for several months, knowing how sick that in view of saving the French Barbarians, which he vowed a boundless passion. Is that this patron was above all a man of heart that told me recently: "Money has never been my motor Happiness is not having money but it's for. imagine others happy. so if I have even a little help ... "

To this end, he had especially invited over 400 people, 400 friends, including many rugby players, in Rio there is a little more than a year for 80 years. This dream invitation was their own personal way to greet the company. We will not forget. Serge Kampf has marked the history of rugby as a person, making a Barbarians against power and distilling all the way notice also informed that right.
