After the Barty Party yesterday, this men's final is looking like going 5.

So...not only is Djokovic kicked out and not allowed to try and get ahead of Nadal or Federer, but Nadal actually goes and wins it instead. Lol.

Yeh that does rub salt in the wound for Novak. Rafa and Fed always were the better people.

Yep, someone else getting that record will have really stung. No Vax is probably making his appointment as we speak.

Quite incredible though that Nadal's only previous AO win was in 2009 while No Vax first won it in 2008. Forgotten how often Murray had been a finalist.

I couldn't help thinking about the all blacks and the springboks in 87 while watching all this unfold.

Just finished watching the replay. Absolutely amazing. My favorite final since nadal federer at Wimbledon all those years ago.

Just watched the Novak interview on BBC . So, he feels so strongly about not taking the jab that he's willing to give up winning any more grand slams and becoming the GOAT of tennis for it. Don't agree with him, but respect him for sticking to his beliefs. Of, course not spreading Covid when he had it, certainly not to kids.

Sad to watch the rapid decline of Andy Murray since his run of injuries and latest comeback to the circuit.
His latest defeat, winning only one game must spell the end very soon.

TBH he's been fighting the inevitable for a while. He had a hard enough time even getting fit. However, if he still enjoys it, then guess it's up to him.

Anyone watch the resurfacing documentary on Amazon prime? His surgeon pretty says he's got a 15% chance of destroying his hip if he carries on playing for 7 years post op. He's now over 2 years into that. Still, being a stubborn sod and playing tennis is what he loves to do. Just hope for him and his family's sake he goes out on his terms. No point seeing him getting thrashed in these minor tournaments if he's just going to do long term damage to it. The Hip ops he had was not meant for playing elite tennis.
