Wow if Clermont could get Flood, Alun-Wyn Jones and Nonu that's really going to push them up a gear. All of them are quite a bit better than the current Clermont players in their respective positions.

Flood --> James
AWJ --> Cudmore/Hines
Nonu --> Rougerie

Clermont could be about to have the two best No. 12's in the world on their books. That's just unfair.

They're also chasing Halfpenny, Heaslip and O'Brien. They could have the best squad of anybody in the world ever.

Do they really need 3 All Black centres (King, Stanley, Nonu) + 2 French centres (Fofana, Rougerie) in their squad. If they can afford it then fair enough, but their money must run out at some point, and I would suggest that they are over spending in one position. Nonu has an average record at domestic level as well so there's risk attached with his attitude as well, the money on Nonu would be better spent on a better tighthead (you can never have enough), back rower or fly half in my opinion.

Ian Gough and Ian Nimmo both to London Irish to cover injuries.
Gareth Baber to leave the Cardiff Blues at the end of 2013.

Mike Poole has been signed by the Scarlets and Wales Sevens on a dual contract. He was released by the Newport Dragons in May after numerous injuries.

I thought he was a decent squad option for the Men of Gwent. Felt sorry for his injury earlier this season as it came right after a terrific break. Surprised he's been let go if he's fit again, Pewtner is gash. Having said that the Scarlets were in desperate need of a winger having signed literally nobody to replace Fenby and North, he should see some game time.

It would be a tough call, he has had quite a few ligament injuries. Pewtner is a nipper but yeah, not outstanding. Considering we have Harris, Wardle, Prydie, Amos, Hughes all options out wide, and very possibly Ashton Hewitt in a year or two, he would be surplus.
