Transfers Rumours

would bath stop trying to buy bloody everyone its like man city
I take the opposite view and admire their ambition. Bath as a club have gone from among the leading lights in European rugby to also rans as we've moved forther into professionalism. They can't realistically compete by simply building through their academy and need to target players from elsewhere if they're to scale the heights they did in the past.

Steven Shingler (Llanelli RFC/Scarlets) is apparently off to London Irish. He has plenty of potential, and doesn't have a shot at making the staring XV with Wellies, Rhys and Newton ahead of him. Shame, but a good move for him.

Come to the Dragons Hooky lol, we'll have you and you can play at 10

Have to be honest with you Mick, as much as I love Hook, we should leave Tovey at 10 and not mess Hook about at 12, 13, and 15.
Prydie we could have done with, or perhaps Daniel Evans.

Yeah I know what you're saying it would probably stunt Tovey's development and I honestly believe Tovey will become Wales' first choice flyhalf in the next few years, but then again I think any club would love to have a player like Hook in their team, he is a world class player.

Apparently Paul Turner is leaving Dragons at the end of the season with Kingsley Jones taking over the reins

I really don't like the idea of Turner leaving us as hes essential to us at the Dragons in going forward but on the other hand Kingsley Jones is one of the few people I wouldn't mind replacing him along with Nigel Davies and Lyn Jones and a few others. I'd much rather he stayed though and if this rumour proves to be true then I think Turner has got one eye on coaching Wales in the distant future so wants to get some more experience at different clubs so that he is ready either at the end of Gatland's contract or sooner if Gatland exits sooner whether it be from the WRU losing patience (which is likely as they do tend to lose patience quite quickly) or if Gatland has enough and leaves early of his own accord. Either way I think Turner will be ready and waiting, though there will be some other good candidates by this time like Dai Jones.

I forgot Ayerza will probably be off to the WC, too, so Brookes is starting to sound like a good buy.

Realistically, he's a sodding excellent buy for anyone.

He's 20, he's had substantial AP experience, he's got reasonable scrummaging technique for a lad his age and he's a good, potentially excellent carrier. The fact he's potentially able to cover all three front row positions is just the bumper sized bonus to end all bumper sized bonuses. I think even if Leicester didn't lose a soul from their front row he'd be worthwhile.

I shall now be paying more attention to him. Ta for the info!

I honestly don't rate any Welsh coach, Turner, Kingsley, Young, Nigel, Johnson. Out of the lot of them, I'd go with Turner but with better assistant coaches at the Dragons.

Grewcock's finished in the summer, sadly, so Attwood is in effect the replacement. Attwood is effectively Grewcock but 15 years younger anyway.

Rumours abound that Steve Diamond is coming back to Sale to be director of rugby - meaning that KJ is almost definitely leaving

He played for Sale, then joined Mallinder in coaching at Sale, taking them to 2nd in the league, and a HEC spot, and a Parker Pen win
Him and Mallinder also coached Saxons to victory in the Churchill cup
He then coached at Saracens, before leaving to coach the Russian national team (getting them into the WC for the first time)

Would be a decent signing, me thinks!

Interesting! Thornley said last week on radio that they hadn't signed yet and things were not 100% certain.

Well I can confirm Munster have made contact with Sean Cronin and we plan to offload Fogarty.
Fla is pushing on and not what he was.
Also heard Carr has been contacted by Exeter 2 other English teams and French team but that is rumour.

Tbh I' not too bothered about Carr. Without him we'll still have Kearney, Fitzgerald, Nacewa, McFadden, Conway, Horgan and possibly D Kearney and Niall Morris competing for three spots.

I'd like another top hooker. Strauss has been very good this season but competition seems to be Joe's byword.

Will be interesting to see whether Exeter sign any big names this season,
They didn't find out they'd been promoted until quite late so couldn't really sign many players as they'd all been snapped up
Would be interesting to see Carr with them

Having both Cronin and Varley at Munster would be interesting, would mean one or the other missing out on some game time, but certainly not a bad situation for Munster to put themselves in

Carr is another player would could end up at Munster. I'd say theres plenty of clubs after him given his try scoring record.
