Im not sure about Bowe to Ulster. He's also been linked to Munster and Leinster. Anyway it'll be good to have him back in Ireland

There's never been any indication that he's ever wanted to move to Munster and it wouldn't be in anyone's interests really to see him at Leinster. While there's no doubt that a player who can switch between wing and 13 would be very valuable with Shaggy and Drico on the verge of retirement, it'd be a real slap in the face to the likes of Macken, O'Malley, Carr and Dave Kearney should Leinster sign Bowe. I'd like to see us plough on with our home grown lads if at all possible.

A case could easily be made for Bowe to join Leinster but only as a winger. Shane Horgan is on the verge of retirement and Isa Nacewa could be out the door soon enough thanks to the IRFUs ridiculous new overseas player policy. I wouldn't be too worried about what might happen to Dave Kearney or Fionn Carr because Bowe is a much better player than either of those will be.

My preference would be for Bowe to return to Nordieland and help mould the likes of Peter Nelson and Craig Gilroy into quality back three players. If that was the case, Ulster would be just a decent flyhalf and a bit of depth in the pack short of being a genuine contender for European glory in my opinion.

I'd be surprised if we didn't keep Isa tbh. As of the moment Isa, Danielli, Howlett and Payne are the NIQ back three players at Leinster, Ulster and Munster. By the sounds of it Danielli is off before this ruling comes into place meaning we'll be able to sign Nacewa as a wing, where he is playing a lot of his rugby these days anyways. Besides that, the outcry if Isa isn't allowed re-sign would be such that the IRFU would perhaps have to reconsider their position.

My understanding of the new rules is Leinster won't be allowed to resign ANY of their foreign players, like it or not Isa is leaving once his contract ends.

That's a good signing for the Dragons if true. He'll be seen as a 12 I think. Anything to bolster their pitiful midfield (apart from Ashley Smith, but he's always injured) is good.

Now they need to sign a decent prop or two and a second row with more ability than Rob Sidoli (who I can't believe is still playing regional rugby).
Pat Leach was looking decent before his injury. I'd take Shingler though, would be a good push for Tovey. I like the look of Robling at 12 and think he could settle long-term in that position.

I'd doubt that Kaino would go to Ulster though no offence. He's probably the best 6 in the world at the moment and there will be a lot of rich clubs after him.

None taken, it seems ridiculous to me as well... except that we tempted Pienaar here too. And Afoa. Ulster have a track record of selling themselves at the moment and clearly can compete financially to at least a degree. Afoa was Kaino's best man at his wedding. Kaino's cousin has also played here. Apparently both are helping sell the idea to him.

It might just happen. The idea has legs.

Just imagine Kaino and Ferris on the same team sheet... especially when the team sheet could also have the likes of Bowe, Pienaar and Afoa on it. I hope this comes off for next season as then I'd be able to pop down the road and watch them before I foxtrot oscar back to sunny england.

As for rumours a bizarre one that has come off a good source is Schalk Brits to Bath.... no idea why he'd do it etc and it seems fairly unlikely to me that it would happen but it would make the happiest man in the world.

If you're close by, go and watch Pienaar in the flesh anyway. Worth it.

I've heard about the Brits to Bath one, if Bath can persuade them they have serious ambitions it'd be good for him, he'll get more game time with less pressure from Smit and George. I hope it happens for England's sake.

The Torygraph is saying Northampton are on the verge of signing Luke Narraway to replace Ulster bound Roger Wilson.

Ulster are on the right track. I said a couple of years ago that they were primed to move ahead of Munster in the Irish provincial pecking order. I think next year will be the year they do just that. David Humphreys is doing a brilliant job rebuilding that squad, focusing on top imports to bolster their starting XV and younger players being blooded slowly in the Pro 12.

I'd take that. Although he's a replacement for Wannenberg, no more no less, and no more a replacement for the future. We still ideally need another top quality back-rower. That and a good scrum coach and our pack looks as good as just about anyone's.

It might be in Tommy's interests. He'd win more, get the tax break for his years there, and his father is a Leinster fan.

Once the new rules kick in, correct. Expect a wave of renewals and long contracts shortly before they do.

Robling hasn't impressed me that much to be honest, not as good as the underrated Ashley Smith or Pat Leach
I disagree. Despite his goal kicking issues, his passing and timing was very good for such a young player. His running game isn't bad either, and could be a good 12 in the style of a 'relief outside half' sort of like Mauger or McAlister.

have to agree to disagree, don't remember him doing much against the Ospreys apart from the interception, his passes went to floor a few times as well

I'm hoping I can get myself down to a match, I'm living here for a couple of years before I return so far I've only gone to one match and watched'em on the telly.

Anyways... apparently the Brits story is driven, in a way similar to Kaino, by the fact that he's good mates with Flouw from his Stormers days. I would love it to happen but I guess we'll just have to wait IMHO we're much more likely to sign Webber from Wasps.

Personally I haven't been impressed with any of the Dragons centre, other than Ashley Smith. Many have a bit of potential, but none have any particular strength to their game. They've all had one off good games, but in general they're all a bit meh. Hopefully one or two can prove me wrong, but I'm not holding my breath. Shingler has shown that he can hack professional rugby and has been doing good things at LI. He appears a class above the likes of Robling and Leach.

I feel that the Dragons midfield has been a problem for some time now. Smith is their standout player, but even he has plenty of off days.

I thought Hughes was outstanding last season, including his time spent at 13, where he managed to inject a lot of pace into the game. However, he's been far quieter this season, a shame as he was beginning to look like a potential call-up. Though, agreed- Any tidy new Dragons midfielder would probably be apprechiated.

Unlike the mighty Tommy Bowe leaving the Ospreys! I'd probably cry.

I don't know, I think that he (Robling) is a handy player and will get better. He is really just starting out at this level, so we need to give him some time. I have said numerous times how I feel about Ashley Smith and how he goes unnoticed by so many, but his form lately has been unpredictable. We need some power midfield, such as Hughes, who will get better with more time at 13. Tuilagi was an awful signing and I called it from the start. Brew at 13 is a better choice, because he at least has pace. Aaaaanyway, back to the topic; yes, I will take Shingler, thank you very much.

It would probably be the best thing for Sheridan to be honest even as a Sale fan. He's by no means old for a prop but hes had so many injuries that i think a big contract to finish off would be the best move for him. And who knows maybe playing down in the south of France in the sun will help reinvigorate him like it did for Johnny. Plus they have a big squad so he would be rotated and rested regularly.
