Transfers rumours

Eastmond really overestimating his worth

Props will always be in demand, and Tuilagi is as big a star as you'll get in rugby.

Maybe eastmond moving back to league?

Taufua
Veainu
Manu
Eastmond
Bateman
Reid

Are all the players rumoured to be off.
First 3 are big loses
Latter 3 not so much.
Would be interested to see the other 6 that stayed.
Genge
Ford
Lavanini
Rumoured 3.

On the whole shame to be losing Taufua, Veainu and Manu, could've been a lot worst though.
Reffell and Steward would be players i would like to see fill in.
Freddie Steward especially is a player really highly rated and tipped to push Hodge with England XV shirt.

Genge, Ford and Lavanini would most likely have been a lot harder to replace.

It's mad how the Tigers one true superstar just took it like a gent. No wonder the clubs in the pits with all these prima donnas.

Edit: The timing of that post was as bad as Tigs' assessment of the GOAT.

Several players, including 29-year-old British and Irish Lion Tuilagi, have been locked in a contract dispute with the Premiership strugglers.

Greg Bateman, Telusa Veainu and Jordan Taufua are also set to be released.

Leicester Tigers: Manu Tuilagi one of six players set to be released

Is the money there in SR? It'll be an interesting fallout either way.
There is no money in SR. There is no SR comp currently on the table for 2021.

There are talks about a 2021 trans-Tasman comp, but it's not settled and it will be worth far less than what is already a fading competition.

It seems Argentina, Japan and South Africa won't be involved either way. It could, in theory, return to normal in 2022 but i doubt it.

As an aside: Three players from the Reds refused a Covid related pay cut and were all released from their contracts, including Rodda an incumbent Wallaby.

It seems like the money is in France or Japan and that's about it ... having said that, with Barritt retiring and having cut a lot of costs, I can imagine Saracens might have the money.

Re. Eastmond, maybe league is an option but is there any more money there than there is in union? He's a good player, but since leaving Bath, he's not really shown anything like the form to justify being a top earner.

Nope,
Their salary cap is very low and I doubt any side would waste their marquee slot on a player who's not played league in an age and isn't SBW

Daily Mail reporting that Leicester players could go to another prem club on far lower wages and then would be within their legal rights to sue Tigers for the difference to their current contracts.

12. Rohan
13. Manu

RIP defences shoulders

Yes.
Although Prem clubs all agreed not to do something like that Care and Lansdown confirmed it. Prem clubs are always trustworthy though.
Eastmond could do something like that if he wanted to go to League.

Eleventh-hour talks could see Manu Tuilagi stay at Leicester Tigers following 'change of heart'

AKA he realised that his injury record means that most clubs aren't willing to pay him what he believes he's worth

Was it Manu who doubled down on the Folau shenanigans?

Lowish contract then fund his league fees to sue Tigers?

How many marquee spots do Sale use currently?
Arsehole move if true - and therefore easily believed for all clubs.

All clubs will use both marquee spots - even if they're not spending to the cap - and Manu won't qualify for either.

Pretty much no club goes around saying "We'll sign you as our marquee" (Bristol seem to be an exception here), they say "We'll sign for £X", then declare their biggest earner from whoever meets the requirements as their marquee.
