Twickenham will host the final of next season's Heineken Cup on the weekend of 19-20 May.

The home of England rugby hosted the tournament's final in 2000 and 2004, when Northampton and Wasps won the respective finals.

Officials are hopeful of breaking the record attendance for a European fixture - 74,600 at the 2002 final - at the now 82,000-capacity stadium.

Tickets for the 2007 final have already gone on sale from £25 each.

"We are delighted to be going back to Twickenham for the 2007 Heineken Cup final," said European Rugby Cup chief executive Derek McGrath.

"We have already staged two hugely successful finals at the ground and it will be exciting for all the clubs in the tournament to be aiming to play at the recently refurbished venue."

Next season's Heineken Cup kicks off on the weekend of 20-22 October this year.

That's 3 finals in 7 years for Twickenham yet it's only been in Paris once, strange decision.

An Tarbh, that's surprizing indeed but I think that the organizations that manage the big French stadia didn't apply most of the time because they had already other events held at these dates.
