URC Round 4 25/26

Complacent and arrogant. Usually we save those for the real big games.

I'm very worried about Leinster. Leo has babied lads for years to make them internationals and it hasn't really worked.

Farrell will get more out of them but Leinster rugby isn't optimal and Irish rugby will suffer as a result.

Crowley made Prendergast look like a school kid out there. I'll even have the knives out if Sam starts in Chicago.

Munster showed up and played rugby, Leinster walked on and off the pitch. No jeopardy in any Leinster player's performance and JVdF is the only one who showed up as per.

I'm fairly sick and don't want to belittle anything. Munster ****** us, Hope they keep the level!

21 Leinster players, a fair few of them living on past performances, in the Irish squad - only 4 Munster lads. No wonder the Men in Red were motivated. To be honest, that result was what the rivalry needed - it’s been painfully one-sided for years. A Munster team that can consistently match and beat Leinster would only be a good thing for Irish Rugby in the long run. Long way to go, but it’s a positive start.

The Leinster twitter feed is being twitter and an absolute **** show.
Knives out for Cullen an understatement.
I think a "promotion" to director of operations would do a lot. There's lots of experience there bringing players through which benefits us and Ireland. But it's time our HC focuses on coaching more than development.

I agree Munster seemed to outplay Leinster in every facet

******* class! Be honest couldn't hear that PT call in the pub but seemed suspect. Absolutely delighted with that. Beirne was 100% MOTM there if we're being honest.

I’ve seen this said in a few places, and tbh I’m really surprised because for me it was absolutely clear cut. Penny tackles Farrell to ground, creating a “tackle area” and a new offside line. Anyone entering the tackle area must enter from the direction of the their own try line on their feet, and no one can argue that Frawley did either, so it’s a clear cut penalty. Given that the infringement occurred on the tryline a yellow card is absolutely correct, and the decision to award a pt in those circumstances, while open to debate, was completely understandable. A lot of people seem to be think that because a ruck wasn’t formed that the “gate entry” requirement didn’t apply but tackle law has exactly the same requirements. Tbh I thought the ref had a good game in what was a very difficult game to ref given the physicality and needle.

And yes, Beirne was head and shoulders motm for me as well, but Crowley and Wycherley were also superb. Really think that Leinster needed to address Cullen’s position a couple of years ago and I’m concerned that he’s wasted a particularly talented generation of players with nothing to show for it.
