USA news & politics

On all this I would still question Russia wanting to stop the conflict. It's currently making a pretty large (by this wars standards) gain in the Donbass and it's whole war economy seems to be quite resilient. Witcoff has been going to Moscow for months without any results (although his expertise is real estate not global politics) it's only been the threat of secondary sanctions that's made them agree to meet and the war is still very much raging.

Russia is getting treated like a big player by America and that's only going to embolden them. Don't forget they chose to start this completely pointless war and it feels like they are getting rewarded for it which doesn't do much for European or global security. We have been here before in 1914 and 1939 and it didn't end well for anyone.

Has he been asking people to go directly to war with Russia on their behalf or has he just been asking for support?

You're probably right about risk being similar with Zelenskyy and if it's true that 70% of Ukrainians want an end we'll likely see one within the next year but who knows.

I mean, he doesnt half play fast and loose with ideas that are reckless at best

Amazing isn't it, 2 years of media pointing out how Ukraine was humiliating Russia, to only be shocked that the Russians arent doing badly at all, sanctions havnt decimated them, and their war machine while not the most modern is incredibly adept at the grind...

Given the size of populations, military budgets and combat experience the Ukrainians have absolutely humiliated Russia. Russia had all the advantages in February 2022 but absolutely failed to use them and almost lost the war that year. This has been much worse for the Russians than the Winter war of the first Chechen war. 1 million casualties for very little gain isn't going to be judged well in history.

You are correct about the sanctions though.

Ah but in the land of the not so free. Being open, honest and transparent is propaganda
I bet he thinks the Salisbury poisonings were an M16 plot or that there were NATO sponsored biolabs in Ukraine. I could understand Harry saying it because he's troll but Chicago takes himself too seriously to see any irony in what he thinks.

Tomorrow I believe. I think the agenda is:

1. Sell out Ukraine and Europe
2. Get planning permission signed off for Trump towers in Crimea, Moscow and the Donbas.
3. Rate earth minerals grab
4. More self promotion for the Nobel peace prize
5. AoB
In reality:
1. How to divide Arctic

8. Ah and Ukraine, let's pretend we're doing something

Putin can offer something serious about Ukraine though,as the population mood in Russia is getting worse and worse and (judging by rumours) people are strongly annoyed and angry with this war especially recent times. He always tries not to get too far when it comes to mass indignation. Although doubt there will be anything good regarding this war anyway..

Really? Not getting much of the feeling in Russia from the UK is it starting to drop regards the war?
