We Need to talk about Worcester

Can't read it without a subscription, what's the details?
Bath sending their players to Wuss for game time/to fill squad gaps?

Makes sense in the short term, but wouldn't want to fall into a London Scottish situation where they basically wouldn't be able to function without Quins

Weird, I don't have a subscription, but loads fine, try this

No real details right now.

As for Wuss - yes, of course they're targetting promotion, but they haven't been promoted yet; and in the mean time, access to someone else's players is going to be useful

Isn't one of Bristol's biggest complaints that they have a tiny academy catchment area and bath have a big one?
I get they're just trying to have bants but why would Worcester enter into an agreement with no players to send their way?

I mean, there are people who play for Bath University in BUCS, but they're not part of Bath's squad.
We do have a student's programme, which is probably what you're talking about - they're listed with the squads. Austin Emens is one off the top of my head, and he's listed in the senior squad.
You asked if we have squad of 73 - the answer is that no, we don't have a squad of 73.
I don't know where you got that figure from, so don't know how else to respond; but it's either a simple typo from 43 to 73, missing by 1 key; or it's someone who thinks that 43+24=73.

Besides that, of course, this is the Worcester thread, which isn't the right place to really try to work out where someone went wrong.

I got the number from Matt Everard when he talked about the Bath and Worcester deal, he said Bath have a squad of 73 and that the partnership will help those players and help fill out their squad

Hence why I brought it up

I'm not saying it's a bad thing, the senior academy doesn't have a cap for players who came through the system or where not a member of another teams academy. It's logical if you can afford it to have a big ass senior academy and pick and choose from a lot more players

Then he got his numbers wrong, what can I say?
Was I supposed to know that you were at the Worcester fans forum? Was that obvious from you asking if something was true?

It feels like you are - but then, I'm also hung over, slept badly (always do away from home), and have a wedding to attend in an hour.
My apologies

Not at all, I was surprised it was so big.
But as I said senior academy has a 100K cap or something but only for players from other academies. I think it's a interesting debate at that stage of quantity v quality

Wouldn't be surprised to see Will Butler back there. I don't remember seeing him on their leavers list but IIRC he was only at Gloucester on a short term deal?

For Wuss, sounds a strange idea considering they are looking at getting back to prem.
For other teams, it is surely the way things are looking with franchises and 'farm' teams, for development
