I was a winger, but have since converted to openside flanker and am very glad I did.
I used to play on the wing because I'm quite quick (100m - 11.1 sec) and was quite small when I was young, but I have since hit the gym and bulked up alot. I got tired of playing on the wing as I wasn't involved enough in the game, so I made the swich and love it. There is nothing I like more then crunching the fly-half, or doing the dirty work in the rucks.
As you are quite small I think you would have to play 7 not 6, and would probably want a jumper at 6 as you won't be jumping. If you are a good tackler and like to get stuck in the rucks and mauls then I would definitely advise moving to openside flanker.
