Your rugby hopes for 2010

Hope that Chile starts being a decent rival to argentina and make it to the world cup... or make it to EA Rugby 2010 at least

Feicarsinn's Wishlist 2019

Ireland
Retain the 6 nations and pick up a win on the road down south.
Find a replacement for John Hayes from somewhere, failing that keep him fit.
Bring Ian Humphreys into the fold.

Leinster
Make the Semi Finals of the Heineken Cup and the Final of the Magners League. Selfish? Most Definitelty.
Get a new Hooker.

Other Provinces
Ulster to make the Magners League semi finals.
Connacht to get a decent head coach and recruit well during the summer
Munster to keep on steady...but be worse than us. :D

Rugby World At Large
Italy to win a 6 nations game.
Australia to win the tri nations after losing to Ireland in the summer internationals
The likes of Georgia and Japan to get a few games against the top tier nations
Bring back kicking directly to touch from the 22

I'll be happy with that. Modest enough I reckon.

My Wish list

Scotland

To win more than one game in the Six Nations
For Andy Robinson to stop picking Danielli over Thom Evans
Cusiter to stop getting concussed and other head injuries
Ruaridh Jackson to start to put pressure on Godman and possibly Parks for the 10 Jersey

Glasgow

To keep up this good form and togetherness that they have
To make the Magners League play-offs
To have Ruaridh Jackson integrating back into the team and playing well

Overall

Stop all the stupid scrum resets
Make sure all the ref's are up to standard. (To be honest most of them are fine but a few make some stupid decisions)

Gavin Henson.[/b]

what happened to him?

My hopes for this year like the last few years

That Fiji will finally be allowed to get all their best players and for the first time ever field a full strength team like the other top nations get to do.

that the IRB will do something about the long ass season the northern hemisphere has, how the hell can you have teams playing each other on christmas eve??? or even have clubs playing the same weekend the international teams, that's messed up, give them a rest. i hear that's another part of why pacific island players can't get to play for their home countries, if the clubs let all the pacific island players do that they will be short on players since they already had to let players from their own country go.

that we'll switch the seasons the games are played, so international teams will be playing during summer instead of in pouring rain during the winter, making it less entertaining.

That Rugby Sevens will continue to grow, that more countries will get into it.

that i'll be able to get some World Cup tickets.

Amen, Brother. And here's hoping for a Blues vs Stormers final in the S14.

Besides that, may..

- the Bokke get to play Ireland in SA for a change

- the Bokke keep getting results in NZ

- Frans Steyn come back to SA at the end of 2010 as a more mature player

- SA get selections right re fringe Boks and may political interference be minimal

- countries like Argentina, Fiji etc get some actual backing from the IRB for a change

- lastly and most importantly, WP and the Stormers build on the form they showed in 2009 (Cheetahs as well)

And may Ireland and Munster perform up North along with Racing Metro and Italy. Also, may the Aussies have as horrible a year as they did this year ITO rugby.

There are internationals played in the summer and the autumn

Domestic: Ospreys to win away to Clermont next week, almost guaranteeing them a home QF, eventually winning the HC at last.
The Blues and Scarlets to improve their poor form and climb the Magners League table.
Dragons to regain the form they were showing before the Christmas break.

International: Wales to win the 6 Nations, showing an improved and more creative gameplan than we've seen recently.
Warberton developed further as an option/replacement for Martyn Williams.
Biggar to seriously push Stephen Jones for the 10 shirt.
Stop starting Powell, he's only good as an impact sub (if that).
Develop a midfield combination that offers more creativity.
Adam Jones to stay fit. Bring through a genuine replacement.
Score tries, lots of them.

As a whole: Argentina to get a deffinate date on when they will be joining the tri-nations.
Sort the scrum out, everyones bored with endless collapses.
More running rugby from all teams, an end to boring ping-pong kicking.

Ireland to win the Grand Slam again

Leinster to win the Heineken Cup again

Leinster to win the Magners League

Ireland to beat the All Blacks in New Zealand

Ireland to beat Australia in Australia

Ireland to go another year undefeated

Gordon D'Arcy is declared the king of Ireland

Sale:
Top six finish in the GP
Put up a good fight in our remaining HEC matches (doubt not going to qualify, but would like us to worry toulouse)
Continue our good form,
We've got a few younger players playing well in the squad, so to keep developing them

England:
Play well in the 6N, finishing well with (at least) three wins
Play Flood over Wilkinson, and drop Borthwick (either to the bench or just in general), Flutey/Tait as centres as well
Use our forwards properly, and use Tom Croft effectively, he's a backrower with the pace of a winger, Pier Spies show's how effective that can be (though he's bigger than Croft)

In General:
SA to continue with their poor form of the AIs :p

High hopes...

You do realise England can win the six nations?
[/b][/quote]
As can France, Ireland and Wales :p
If France turn up on the day(s) they could get a grandslam, as could Ireland

or not...I'm not even gonna put Scotland's name in that :p

DAVIES! Wales are a shadow of the team they were! Hopefully Scotland can win a few matches...:p

That's because we're too awesome for Wales or England yet we're sure to ******** it up in Paris, who will then lose to England as per usual.
