I didn't say this Brexit made racists attacks go up that's not saying everyone who supported Brexit was racist but there is statistical correlation this happened so the racists who voted for Brexit were emboldened by that. The same will happen due to this ruling thats not to say that all people who support the ruling are transphobes.3. Brexit emboldened... I'm not even getting into this insult to everyone who disagrees with you is a phobe, it's petpetty
Isn't the issue that a GRC should confer you all the "rights" of that group. Otherwise what's the actual point of one? This ruling pretty much not only didn't allow for self ID (too complex and nuanced) they rendered the GRC as useless as well. And getting a GRC is bloody hard.Wasn't part of the problem that it created another problem in that trans with a gender recognition certificate would get access to those spaces, and those without wouldn't. Discriminatory based on a certificate.
Personally I think the decision was the correct one.
Decision may have been right legally (I've not seen a breakdown by commentators i follow) and possibly for self ID (like I say that's a big can of worms). But personal opinion is all spaces should be inclusionary by default and exclusionary by exception. I have no issue with women's shelters for cis-women only as long as that's stated.
Like I say there is grey area compromise and this ruling hasn't found it at all to the extent it doesnt even acknowledge intersex people exist by creating a sex binary. It's up to parliament to lead the debate in a good and dignified way although I can't see that happening.
