The Leinster thread

This is a bit meta but I do think it’s important to think about the fans and their perspective. Part of the social contract between fans and teams is that the teams will give their all. I don’t think that the Irish players aren’t giving their all but I do think they are handicapped from management. Is that fair to Irish rugby fans to only get a full show during international breaks, and a quarter of those games are on the other side of the world,

Here is what I think partly based on I seen how IRFU rate it and how it is. Leo will 100% keep his job. He has made Leinster profitable and is producing for Ireland.
Personally I think he should go as Leinater need freshness. Their lack of trophies is now embarrassing to IRFU for their investment.

But I still disagree with Leo being hung out solely today.
-Selection is a Humphreys F up and well that will get worst. Imagine having a Jordie Barrett in hot form and can't use him as IRFU had clause in.
- Tactics. This is 100% Nienaber and it made how he escapes scotch free.

Leinster will hurt today and alot of change needs to happen but won't. I love Henshaw but he is nearly at end of road. But just got a new Central Contract so starts for another 2 years.
Reckon Ioane is coming next year to be restricted on what he can and can't do.

Like they facts so.instead of telling me **** off why not say why Leo is only one being attacked

Leo has been the constant for four years of failure. He's also not the guy making Leinster profitable, and what he's producing for Ireland is no longer winning. Fan pressure will come into this too and I backed him longer than most.

Neinaber loaded the bench, it backfired, but it was really his first misstep to this point as coach.

Humphreys is conjecture, Barrett started the QF, he probably could have started today.

Agree the IRFU stuck all the eggs in one basket by the way. Not Leinster specifically but school systems that have more control over players. Has left a soft underbelly. Also doesn't disguise the failings of Ulster and Munster at a basic level.

You came in and said that the head coach has no say tactics and gameplan. And ignored that the culture in Leinster is totally off. To quote one of your own, do me a favour.

I will say it again though Leo does have a say but does not have the majority say in tactics and style. Nienaber does.
Also at the top paragraph. I agree it isn't Leo coaching that is producing but IRFU love him and he is doing the role they want perfectly.

Could Barrett have started? Yes Leo said he was free but I have my doubts. Jordie was allowed start the QF as there was fitness issues and permission was received. I can say that 100%

The runour was that similar was requested yesterday and IRFU said no or Jordie can only start 1 of SF or Final based on who has accurate answer.

When Leinster brought in Nienaber that changed their culture. I accept Leo called that shot but most agreed it was right call. But again still confused how Nienaber is getting away from criticism.

If we don't win the URC, Neinaber will come in for criticism. Cullen is the head of the operation though, the buck stops with him and he has always prioritised this comp to the detriment of the league.

Also, selection is rightly being criticised, whether that's Cullen, Neinaber or the IRFU or all three is murky. Regardless of anything, something is rotten in the State of Denmark.

We that is a more balanced and fair comment than telling me go F Off 😂

And selection is hard comment as none of us know the 100% facts on restrictions which raises another issue on value of signings like Barrett. What is the point if you can't use him as you want

I've heard that, if they indeed exist, that Jordie's restricted minutes are agreed with the NZRU. Still sloppy management to not have two starts in the bank for the semi final and a potential final.

Still think Henshaw over Osborne is just as bad. Ringer does so much defensively anyway he needs his inside man to be on the pace, Henshaw looked lethargic, Osborne is solid as you'd like.
