A Political Thread pt. 2

Given Iran got it's current regime off the back of foreign enforced regime change, I wonder if an attempt to do the same yet again is going to have the desired effect...
Yeah, personally, I'm torn.
On the one hand, flip the mulahs, and flip Iran as it is.
On the other hand - I'm not sure I can ever be a fan of one country unilaterally attacking another unprovoked (yes, I know the nuclear thing is huge, and a clear and present danger for Israel if it ever actually happens - and I can't say I'm up to date enough to know if that's "weeks away" IRL or "weeks away" in the same way it has been for the last decade or so). Was it just that the opportunity was there? Russia and Syria are busy, Iran's defence was degraded last year in the tit for tat, whilst Hamas and Houthis are thoroughly neutralised.
And on the third hand - how often has regime change actually had the desired results beyond "not that"

Beyond that, I gather that the timing is awfully convenient for Bibi, the day before a vote that would potentially lead to an election and see him lose power

The supposedly 'moderate' Hamas leader and key negotiator was assassinated last year just when there was talk that a truce was close. It was felt at the time that he was the best chance of agreeing a truce with Hamas but then he gets bumped off leaving the radicals in charge. Iranian negotiators were also killed this week along with nuclear scientists when Witkoff was flying over for talks with Iran.

Are Iran and it's proxies bad actors and a serious threat to Israel? Absolutely. But it is staggering how any attempt to broker a truce or deal gets scuppered at every turn due to assassinations or military escalation by the Israeli Govt. The strikes against Iran the day before a key vote as you noted. The man's only interest is his own political survival and that involves prolonging the war. I would imagine that he's itching to drag America, France and the UK in. The scary part is that Israel has nuclear weapons - it doesn't get discussed much but it's widely known that they have them and we have a war monger at the helm with his back against the wall.

That vote was the same day as the strike wasn't it ?

So apparently this guy has spent time in Gaza, been attacked by IDF, and is in Egypt on the March to Gaza trying to return...

He's been called racist, but i think it's more ignorance, maybe niaivity, but it's really not a good look, fair play though it's a great performance, Oscar worthy.

The biggest crime here is his valleys accent ffs

Wasn't it the day after? Good little conspiracy though, my instinct was exactly the same lol

Take a ******* day off will you.

Israeli Knesset vote was on Thursday,

Israel launched their attack hours later in the early hours of Friday.

Don't be a twat all your life.

It's people like you who make the world less educated, you're worse than tiktok.

I just agreed with you hahahahaha

Why do you feel the need to argue with me, while agreeing with my comment lol. The strikes were the morning after the vote.

I taken it you weren't insinuating that Netinyahu instigated something pre vote?

Don't be so emotional, take a breath, the petty little name calling of strangers on the Internet isn't going to make your life any better!

Because Iran made a direct threat against UK bases in the middle east - pretty standard to increase defensive capabilities in those circumstances
Did they?

Or is this a perceived threat off the back of netanyahus new war?

Edit: Ah. May have been tangod by inept journalism. Unless cyprus is now in the middle east?
