The Ukraine War thread

@McTallshort absolutely agreed with the first part but not agreed with Poland deploying its' troops... Estonia, the UK, France etc can do whatever they want, but I disagree with Poland participating in it (already was writing in this thread why). By the way I have a suspicion that Nawrocki was elected mainly because he promised not to send troops to the Ukraine....I didn't vote for him though

Let's see. Poland has a large Russian base on its border and it's not spending all that money on defense for no reason

Or withdrawing from the anti-personel mines treaty, and sewing that border with anti-personel mines.

The Baltic states know full well that they're on the menu next once Russia has finished with Ukraine (or one-after-next if Ukraine signs a treaty to give Russia a chance to rebuild its military before finishing the job)

Ukraine doesn't yet need troops on the ground from its allies (though I'm sure they wouldn't say no). But there absolutely is more that its allies can do - especially if the russian asset in the white house withdraws and loses any ability to say "no"

It actually does need troops. It's desperately short

Yeah, they can send women and schoolboys after all. Really no need in troops, who cares of the troops nowadays,in a computer game you can kill all your enemies alone!
@Ragey Erasmus I was already explaining everything in this thread, plus @McTallshort described better than me. I don't know what exactly in Putin's head (and don't want to know it), but what's 100% sure is he'll use the nuclear weapon if the big war with EU starts and here Russia has a bigger advantage
Also, I disagree with America becoming "pro-Russian". They newer were pro-someones,only pro-themselves. They are orientated only on their own inetrests and needs

Ok, maybe I was irritated because of some things I strongly disagree with, too much, will stop to post on this thread for a certain time. Didn't want to hurt anyone if something

Putin may be 100% sure he wants to use nukes but I'm fairly sure a great deal of people in Russia don't want to die and see the world destroyed for his ego. The EU has enough nukes to render Russia a dead state, that's all it needs. Anything above that is pointless.

There can be no negotiated peace with Russia because we know Russia will break it in a few years. They have been interfering in Ukraine pretty directly for the best part of 2 or 3 decades now. Why do you suppose they will stop with any peace deal? They will simply lick their wounds and prepare for the next invasion. Russia simply cannot be trusted to honour any agreement so all agreements with them are worthless. If Russia get significant territory gains, control over Ukraine and are welcomed back into the world, they will have learned that this is something they can do to get what they want and will definitely do it again.

The Baltic states are in the firing line next. Russia has openly said it doesn't recognise their independence. Everyone and their dog knows anything short of Russia defeat will just embolden Russia to do it again and again. Recently Russia has been getting in wars with it's neighbours approximately every 5 years.

Headline is totally incorrect. It should read NATO is sending air defence weapons to Ukraine as the orange-utan wants NATO to pay for them.

I guess he's already reneged on his deal with Ukraine. Oh well, it lasted about two months.

As long as Ukraine gets the missiles I couldn't care less

Tbh patriot is pretty much useless again the current problem.

An $8m USD missile that takes around 18 months to build is not the solution to upgraded shahed drones at maybe $100k USD each.

It's arguable no SAM is the solution to that - but rather better AAA. Gepard or Marksman with more oompf? Smart semi guided rounds? Upgraded fire control?

Yeah you'd think the response to drone swarms is AA swarms. Something that can chuck a load of cheap stuff at the drones.

i think the patriots are more for the accompanying missiles rather than the drones.

As you say a hail of lead at the drones would probably be more effective.
