He doesn't want actual power - that comes with responsibility and blow-back.
He wants to lob grenades from the sides, safe in the knowledge that he'll get tonnes of air-time, good paying gigs, and none of that pesky "put up or shut up" stuff.
I mean, the most cursory of glances at his attending and voting record will tell anyone that - MEP or MP.

I mean, this is an interesting case. It seems like an op ed she wrote promoted support for Hamas indirectly, or at least that was the claim for revoking the F-1 Visa.
I havnt read it but have read the op ed essentially tells the university to stop doing business with Israeli (and by extension jewish) organisations, and promotes DBS movement and acknowledgement of genocide etc.
I'd lie on the side of this will be overturned, if the op ed is the only evidence of terroristic support, but I kind of also expect there may be more evidence, those who feel so passionately about a subject to write an in depth strong opinions ed like this, usually dont limit their actions to one peice of work. Also she was a co author with 3 others, who I have non idea of status, and it appears none of them have been contacted?
Regarding the arrest, ICE have no legal duty to inform F-1 Visa holders that their visas have been revoked, this is consistently been held up by the courts. Demor vs Kim was a high profile case, it set precedent for allowing detention and removal actions with limited procedural safeguards, including limited immediate notice of status is think.
This has been common practice for decades, so no, it isn't a new Gestapo style tactic introduced. It happened pre 2000, and in fact the whole system was streamlined on behalf of the government by Obamas expansion of digitalisation of the revocation process. Not that im blaming Obama specifically, all presidents extend their powers!
Watching the arrest was an eye opener, after reading about it I was expecting a monster jumping out of the bushes, grabbing and wrestling Ozturk to the floor without apparent provocation. What I saw was an officer brandshing his ID up front, talking to Ozturk until she becomes upset (understandably so) and tries to back up and walk off, in which he holds her arm, and other officers approach and talk to her, a female taking the lead, and walking her off. Pretty typical detainment for ICE no?
Either way, this article proves the detainment was legal, and is a civil action, that will be investigated and a conclusion found in the law.
If the only evidence is the op ed is absolutely disagree with it, but let's wait and see, and not turn this into an Abrego Garcia situation where Democrats are having cocktails in different countries with accused human traffickers, and gang members.
