What a game the Ravens V Bills looked. 20 minutes of highlights and they all were.

Can anyone more knowledgeable than myself elaborate on the two point conversion that was disallowed?

Receiver stepped out but was back in quite comfortably before catching the ball?
If they step out on purpose, does that mean they are ineligible for the rest of the play? It looked like the defender didn't really give him a choice.

Is it where his feet are when the ball is thrown?

I tried googling illegal touching and now I'm on some sort of register.

Yeah, if you voluntarily go out of bounds you can't receive a pass (but I think can receive a tip/claim a fumble?) - only if you're forced out of bounds are you still eligible
Guess the forced out of bounds is up to refs interpretation - do you have to be physically shoved or can you be shepherded out etc

Apparently the above is all guff, despite tons of analysts saying it/complaining about it, the actual rulebook says the following is ineligible
An eligible receiver who has been out of bounds prior to or during a pass, either by his own volition or by being legally forced
out, even if he has reestablished himself inbounds with both feet or with any part of his body other than his hands

Good to know American Football is just as confusing for fans and experts as rugby is

I mean, you were right first time really as being shoved isn't legal.

The defender didn't even shepherd really, just held his line.

Didn't help that you couldn't really see where he came from, and then they had a slo-mo replay where he wasn't visible at all.

Even the ref didn't sound convinced.

It's good there's more coverage of it on UK TV, but I thought the studio sections were awful.

Redzone is pretty good and you’re not stuck with a tedious game.

Green Bay easily beat Detroit, the 2x defending NFC North champs (27-13) on Sunday. If it weren't for a TD pass with 50 seconds left in garbage time the Lions never would have made it in the end zone. Go Pack Go! 🏈

Yeah, this is how I watch it - don't support a team (yet?) so just getting all the action with none of the delays/adverts suits me down to a tee
I bloody love Redzone. I will only watch an eagles game over it if it’s available to watch. Otherwise my Sunday evening is watching 4-6 hours of Redzone
