Jesus you are deluded... You aren't attacked for calling for honesty, accuracy and nuance, you are attacked for being a hypocrite and not doing that yourself. Your go-to thing is acting like everyone is the same, the exact opposite of a nuanced view. You're the one who needs to step back and ask yourself why you get a kick out of creating arguments all the damn time. I really can't be bothered with this any more.

Calling out falsehoods is very consistent, like I said there is a lot of things I agree with, noone gets hysterical about getting a like, or my agreement, but all **** hits the fan when an inaccuracy, or more often malicious lies are countered. Think about why that is, and when enough whining happens from the usual suspects, and im banned for disagreeing, your going to start considering it yourself...

"The MAGA Gang (is) desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it," Kimmel said. "In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving."

This is why, apparently this is hate speech. And an orange-utan appointed chair is threatening withdraw ABC licences.

Kimmels remarks were distasteful, but christ almighty youd think after a decade of complaining about cancel culture BS, to ramp it up to this level in the last few weeks they are going to regret it when it turns back on them!

Apparently theres an official job loss counter,l on the expose Charlie kirks murderers, 20k submissions 1300 jobs lost...

They keep comparing this to Floyd's death, and patting themselves on the back for not burning anything down, but bugger me this is getting out of hand, before they know it they'll have UK hate speech style laws ffs

Kinda crazy isn’t it. I mean, Trump whipping up more division and not trying to calm things down. Now we have well established talk show hosts getting cancelled for not even anything that controversial.

Again, makes me think that Trump and this right wing lot in America are very different from not only their republican peers from years gone by, but anything we’re seeing in the west at the moment or in history to be honest.

For some of the cases - yes.
eg. the guy who lost his job for refusing to make a cake honouring Kirk is no different to a different guy losing his job for refusing to make an LGBT+ cake.

Others though, like Kimmel - aren't (unless you're ding a Harry). Cancel culture is customers taking their custom elsewhere, maybe arranging with others to do so and maybe letting the employer know why - a movement from the customer base. Kimmel seems to have been central government saying "fire this guy or we revoke you broadcast license", and is part of the wider war this regime is waging on broadcast media

Really? This is still way short of british hate speach laws, like by a mile. What Kimmel said was definately contraversial, but I wouldnt argue for his sacking. Maybe these are the consequences noone in the US are free from I keep hearing here?

Wouldn't you compare this to Megan Kelly's show being axed, she made stupid comments about blackface and felt the force. Id probably disagree with her statements, and with her firing if I'm honest, similar to Kimmel, I dont think telling people that the killer was 'one of them' is anything other than stupid, but an apology would have gone a far longer way, similar to Dowd.

I think where Americans should be very careful, the right is hurting and emotional, and they want revenge, the same way people did with the Floyd riots, the gorenment will never let a good tragedy go to waste, Bondi and Trump threatening to revoke licenses, use RICO to stop Funders of protests etc, they are on a slope of eradicating free speech in all but name, I would warn them not to follow europes path

It’s not even hate speech though and he’s getting cancelled. That’s objectively worse than the UK isn’t it? I can’t imagine a UK chat show equivalent suffering the same consequences as Kimmell but maybe I’m wrong.
 
The clip a few mins in of the Kimmell segment where he plays the Trump clip of a reporter asking him how Kirk’s death has effected him is objectively hilarious.
