Queensland Reds defeat Crusaders

I'm not reading into it at all haha, It's a trial which are notoriously unreliable as to how the season goes, I just like beating the Crusaders and annoying the hell out of certain people about it :)

Haha ... cool ... can we talk about all of the Super titles the Reds have won now :D

Sure then we can talk about how many World Cups NZ have won :)
The Reds didn't win this season, but they didn't need to 30,000+ people at their last 3 games, I don't care if the Reds win the season lol, just as long as they don't roll over and go back to being school boy *****es.

Fair enough, the Reds have been a bit of an up and down team over the years ... they have a strong squad, and hopefully will do well this year

As a Saders fan, I'm not too upset, I never expect them to win trials because they use them as trials for the youngster and the reserves to get a run. Maybe if they didn't mothball the 1st XV until the last moment, they would start their seasons with a bang but I prefer it this way so come finals time, they are most definitely the team to beat, it's just bad luck they've had to travel to Loftus these last 2 yrs for the semis.

As a rugby fan, I'm happy that the Reds are showing so good attacking rugby, instead of kicking play we're used to from non-NZ teams. Its a greater trend in these last few years that makes for a more entertaining spectacle.

How's that Reds jersey you bought last season going :)

i fed it to my dog.. But even he didn't like it so I ended up trying to burn it, but the flame wouldn't go near it... So I took it back to the shop and they denied ever having the jersey in store and said they had never seen it before. The last time I saw it, it was at PDV's house!

Before dissing the Reds, saying it was only a trial match, please remind me, what was the score last season reds vs crusaders?

Although I wholeheartedly agree with above statement, it is the incorrect way of sticking it to a Crusaders fan as they still have 900,000 wins over the Reds.

A pre-season runaround played in four 25 minute quarters with unlimited replacements hardly counts as a game of rugby does it?

If I were the Reds coach, I'd be worried that my team, playing at full strength, wasn't able to to stick 70 on a second string opponent with 100 minutes of playing time to do it.

The Reds are going to get sassed by the Crusaders come regular season. Did you see who was missing from the Crusaders team?!.. Holy crap, their like the Miami Heat of the Super 15!

What a flogging my lord the Crusaders are only a shadow of the team they were only a short few years ago. Been on the slide for a while now I suppose. Wouldn't be surprised at all if they don't even feature in the finals this year. Reds should win it based on that result.

LOL ... sure, I could see why you would draw that conclusion when the Reds won a completely meaningless match against a bunch of Crusaders players that aren't likely to feature in the actual competition much :D

LOL. It looks like the Reds and Crusaders have become bitter rivals. At least amongst the supporters. And although the reds are the underdogs they should probably have the belief after beating the Crusaders last year and now in the warm-up.

I'll take some time off work in the morning to watch this game over a nice breakfast and a gin. It should be a cracker no matter which way it goes. TBH I wouldn't be surprised by a draw or if either side ran away with it.

The main thing that makes this not a huge issue for me is the fact that the Crusaders invaribly lose to everyone every preseason..

Someone look up their previous preseason results, they lose all the time.. Theres nothing the be gauged here.

I'm not gauging anything. I am saying that the Reds beat the Crusaders in a warm-up no matter how you spin it. That will give them the belief that they can do it again even against a more intimidating line-up. That and the fact that they did it in regular season last year. I did mention that they are underdogs still.

Oh sorry man i didn't mean to reply to your post directly it was a reply to the whole thread i just hit the wrong button.

Even still, i think the point stands that its meaningless. One of the major reasons being that the Reds have beaten the Crusdaders in every preseason fixture they have had, but they rarely come out on top in the real comp.
